Gather @ Eating House — Restaurant in Yokohama

On the surface it appears to be a wonderful place. But sit down and order through the table tablet, and you'll be surprised about the high prices, and even more surprised when your food arrives: Portions are ridiculously small. Beers (designated "medium") were the size of not much more than a shot glass. The broccoli tapa was flavorful but consisted of one small floret of broccoli. The fries portions were less than a McDonald's small French fries portion. You're either a lover or a hater, but the fries themselves were half as thin as McDonald's fries, and really not better in quality. They were literally dripping in fat. The truffle and cheese on the fries, that was supposed to make the fries "addictive" was scarce, flavorless and not worth the ¥880. The batter on the fish in the fish and chips lacked the advertised crunchiness....

Extremely disappointed... In my 21 years in Japan, this is probably the first restaurant that I would honestly say that I would never want to go to again. The restaurant looks very appealing from the outside, reminding me of some restaurants back home in the US. However, most of the staff members, other than the one Japanese waitress, were awful and need to be trained on customer service. The food was also very disappointing as the meat was dry and tasteless. The "medium" craft beer was extremely overpriced for what you get as the glass was, as another poster stated, a little bigger than a shot glass. I am sorry, but unless the management changes and the staff replaced, I cannot recommend this place...

I did not have a good experience here! First the service was slow. Then when we wanted to order many of the popular items on the menu weren't available even though it wasn't that busy.

I ordered the large fish and chips but they brought out the small. When we asked them they took it away and brought the same piece of fish back on a larger plate with more french fries. If I looked at other people's plates it was clear it was meant to be a larger piece of fish.

The food was overcooked and dry for all four of us who were eating, which considering the price is very disappointing. I've been living in Japan for 20 years and this is one of the worst eating...
