Date: 2024/03/15-17||Nights: 2 nights||Room: Single Room Non-Smoking||||This might be the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in under the Sotetsu Hotel Group. Extremely disappointed. I wish I had stayed at the nearby Toyoko Inn.||||Simply put, the room and bathroom were extremely humid and filled with mold due to equipment deficiencies. ||Travelers with respiratory illnesses or allergies SHOULD NEVER STAY HERE. ||Travelers who care about room cleanliness should also avoid staying here. ||For the same price, there are many cleaner and better options around the hotel. ||Apart from convenient transportation, there is nothing good about it.||||--||||Pros:||||1. Convenient location for transportation.||The hotel website says to take Exit 3 of Bashamichi Station, but this exit only has stairs. Travelers carrying luggage are advised to use the Elevator at Exit 5, turn left after coming up, and you will arrive immediately. ||There is a Lawson 1-minute walk from the hotel, and a 7-ELEVEN is a 3-minute walk away. ||The hotel is within walking distance of Yokohama Harbor, where you can take a walk in the morning, which should help alleviate the disappointment caused by the poor hotel facilities.||||2. Air purifier and humidifier in the room.||There is always an air purifier and humidifier in the room, which is very convenient to use when turning on the heater to avoid excessive dryness.||||3. Option to change room amenities only, without cleaning.||Flexible for guests with tight schedules and itineraries.||||Cons:||||1. The bathroom is extremely humid, resulting in the entire room being filled with mold and mildew.||||This is definitely the most terrifying bathroom I've ever stayed in at a Japanese hotel group. As soon as I entered the room, I smelled a strong musty odor. A simple inspection of the room made me think it was just old, not very dirty. It wasn't until I opened the bathroom door that I found the problem.||||Every visible part of the bathroom is covered in mold: around the bathroom, around the door, around the mirror, around the toilet and floor seams, the entire sink, under the sink, around the bathtub, all covered in mold. The metallic parts, such as the shower curtain rod, are also rusty. ||||I initially thought it was a cleanliness issue and the room was just old, but on the first day after using the bathroom, I found that there was no ventilation equipment in the bathroom, so during my stay, after I took a hot bath at first night, the entire bathroom would be extremely humid and uncomfortable. Every time I opened or closed the bathroom door, the humidity from the bathroom would spread into the room, causing mold to form in the room as well, which was a design flaw. ||||I have stayed in many Japanese hotel groups domestically and internationally, of different grades, and have always been impressed by the cleanliness of Japanese hotels and the fact that all bathrooms are equipped with 24-hour ventilation. But this hotel does not have that, resulting in very unclean and humid bathrooms in the hotel rooms. ||||For travelers like me who have skin allergies and respiratory illnesses, staying here for two days is a disaster.||||||2. Self-check-in machine is not user-friendly.||I am a traveler who likes to handle travel arrangements by myself.||The arrived time that day was late, so the counter needed to be called for assistance. I used the self-check-in machine myself, but when I tried to pay, my credit card failed repeatedly, and the machine displayed that the credit card could not be used, asking me to inquire at the counter for check-in. However, during this trip, I had successfully used the same credit card at different hotels in Japan. ||Later, I called the counter staff to handle the check-in procedure manually, and the same credit card was accepted once, indicating that the problem with the previous machine's failure was completely groundless, and the failure to check in with the machine really wasted my time.||||||3. No wardrobe in the room, too few places to hang clothes.||There are many clothes hangers provided in the room, up to 8 hangers, which is very convenient. However, there are only 2 hanging rings where clothes can be hung in the room, so clothes and coats can only be hung overlapping. There are also many empty hangers occupying the hanging space, so thicker coats or clothes will fall off if hung more than one due to the space occupied by empty hangers. It is recommended to change to a hanging rod like other chain hotels, which can truly hang clothes and have ventilated space.||||||4. Room cleanliness is average.||The cleanliness of the room is average except for the disaster in the bathroom. There is no cleaning of dust or hair, and because of the room's humidity and musty odor, I had respiratory allergy symptoms when I woke up the next morning. ||||In addition, I stayed in a single room, but when I entered the room, there were two sets of pajamas and several notices on the bed. Because there was no wardrobe, I had no idea where to put these pajamas that I wouldn't use, and besides the notice on the bed, there were additional notices on the table, causing a large number of unused items to take up space in my room, which was very inconvenient.||||||5. Unclear information about check-out time.||There is a notice next to the self-check-in machine that says check-out is at 11:00. I am a member of the Sotetsu Group, so theoretically I can extend check-out until 12:00. I am aware that some hotels do not allow check-out extension even for members, but when I checked in at the counter, the counter did not inform me of the exact check-out time. And there was no clear indication on the room card, resulting in my lack of understanding of the actual allowed check-out time, and I was a little panicked on the last day. (It is true that members can check out at 12:00 in this hotel.)||||||6. Although transportation is convenient, there is nothing to eat around at night except convenience stores.||The beef bowl shop is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. If you arrive at the hotel at night, just eat the microwave food from the convenience store.||||||In Japan, there are many choices of hotels at this price level. ||I suggest that travelers visiting Yokohama, or travelers like me who are here to watch concerts and baseball games, avoid this hotel when choosing accommodation next time. ||At least the Toyoko Inn next door, which is about 100 meters away, has similar prices and room sizes, but the quality is...
Read moreMy family stayed 4 days in this hotel prior to our cruise. We picked this hotel as it was close to cruise terminal and subway station, and reasonably priced!||From Narita airport, we took YCAT bus, got off at Royal park hotel, then we reached the hotel after a relaxing walk (less than 10 min)! |The hotel is right next to Bashamichi Station exit 3. If you need to carry your luggage, better use elevator on exit 5 to reach ground level and then walk back.|During our stay, we only used Bashamichi Station to go to wherever we wanted to go and it was very convenient.| |Main entrance may be a bit confusing, just keep in mind reception is on 2nd floor. Once you are in, just go straight to the elevator to 2nd floor. |Staffs were very friendly and eager to help. Some are fluent in English. But in general, it would be better to have Google translate ready. Help them understand your need and they can help you better!||The room was nice and clean. Not big, but OK for my family of three. The only thing that was really challenging was lack of space to hang clothes. And not many hangers.|Bathroom size was ok, but could be very humid after shower. We made sure air conditioning was on and that took care of the humidity.| |We had breakfast in hotel every day during our stay. Breakfast area was right next to reception at 2nd floor. The gentleman who collected our breakfast voucher at the entrance was very friendly. He was very eager to help when need to. And always tried his best to keep the area clean. About the food, there was not much difference from one day to another. |At the end, we got the Japanese style food we wanted, we got a warm friendly greeting every day, so we were very satisfied!||The hotel is not in the middle of a busy downtown area, so it is not surrounded by a bunch of restaurants. |For breakfast, the bakery inside Bashamichi Station exit 3 could be a good option too.|Also Jonathan's cafe and restaurant is nearby exit 5.|Walking south along Bashamichi Street, there were more restaurants too.||The hotel was very close to attractions nearby. Red brick warehouse, World Porters, China town, etc. We were thinking taking taxi to cruise terminal at the beginning. At the end, we decided to walk as we realized it was not as far as we thought, even with luggage. ||On-site laundry was also another great feature of this hotel. We used that to get ourselves ready to our cruise.||And there were two Lawson stores nearby for anything you many need.||Basically we enjoyed our stay in Sotetsu Fresa Inn Yokohama Sakuragicho. If we visit Yokohama again we will definitely stay in this hotel again, highly...
Read moreMy husband & I spent 8 wonderful nights at this hotel in Yokohama, Japan prior to boarding our cruise ship which was leaving from Diakoku Pier.|I rarely have given the highest rating in my hundreds of reviews however, our stay not only surpassed our expectations but also made our visit memorable in so many ways.|The hotel is part of a chain so if you wish to be well located to the harbour, the metro at your doorstep, beautiful surrounding streets filled with trees & flower boxes, so many restaurants, cafes & convenience stores, this Bashamichi is the location to be. We arrived at Haneda airport and took the Airport Limousine Bus which dropped us within a 5 minute walk to the hotel.|The hotel is exceptional clean and we enjoyed a very comfortable room which offered a deep bath as well as shower, large bed & large screen TV. The room was well layed out with a 2.5 seater lounge, ottoman & table, a bar fridge & kettle. The body wash, shampoo & conditioner were of great quality and supplies of tea, coffee and numerous toiletries are available for self selection on Level 2 opposite Reception. There is also a laundry room if needed.|We would highly recommend the breakfast option served in the dining room where you are warmly greeted every morning. There are delicious Japanese dishes and western choices. The food is so fresh and well presented and offers great value. |In particular, it is the exceptional staff who made our stay so memorable. Every staff member was welcoming, friendly, helpful and prepared to go above & beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible. They contributed to making memories that we will take with us and share with others. |Rarely do you find every aspect of an experience just perfect & without fault. Sotetsu Fresa Inn offers just that and we highly recommend you considering this hotel when planning your trip to Yohahama. ||For directions, if arriving by the Airport Limo Bus, look for Jonathan's Cafe & Restaurant at the intersection and head that way. Walk past it on your left and follow the path around the corner to find the entrance to the hotel. It is also located next to Bashamichi Metro Station. Take Exit 3 and it's approx 20 meters to the...
