I've not been to a more hip izakaya than Shimizu Bashi Bar. 10 seats at the bar, four tables upstairs (two four tops, one six top and a spot for a couple). It's a place that feels instantly comfortable. Their chef, Murakami-san, will be diligently working to make sure your food is superb and they usually have at least one server who speaks English. They serve wines, nihonshu, beer, whiskey, chuhai, and carry gin, vodka, and some liqueurs. There is no "well"...all the bottles are quality. As is their cuisine. It’s more of a take your time and enjoy yourself feeling. Despite what others find at fault, we have never had any complaints against the food, customer service...
