The Zushi beach itself is maintained clean and offer splendid view of Mt. Fuji. The stone monument overlooking the beach commemorates a book titled " Taiyo no Kisetsu" or " The Season for the Sun." The writer Shintaro Ishihara was raised in Zushi and the story takes place in Zushi, especially on the Zushi beach. That is all. Unfortunately, the story that depicts a life style of well to do youngsters soon after the war is a second class novel. I re-read the novel when they were making a fuss about the monument, but felt it is not the best novel I can recommend to others. There must have been political reasons( Ishihara was a governor of Tokyo) or more sinister reasons for building this kind of boring monument. Not worth visiting.
