Tourist Trap! ZAJAL Restaurant in Amman is a Complete Scam – Stay Away! What a nightmare experience. Zajal Restaurant in Old Town Amman is nothing but a tourist scam. We came here as a family hoping to try authentic Jordanian food, but we were ripped off from start to finish. The owner/manager acted friendly and enthusiastic while taking our order, but soon after, dishes we never ordered started arriving at the table. One steak we ordered magically became two steaks, and when we questioned it, the owner came up with a ridiculous excuse: “In Jordan, a man gets extra out of respect.” He even promised it wouldn’t appear on the bill. Of course, when the bill arrived, all those “extra” dishes and the second steak were fully charged. When we confronted him, he started spinning nonsense about “service fees” and “discounts,” clearly trying to confuse us. It was obvious this man knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s a smooth-talking scammer who preys on tourists. We ended up paying 110 euros for 3 adults and 1 child, which is outrageous for Jordan. Everything about this place screams dishonesty and manipulation. There are plenty of honest, welcoming restaurants nearby where you’ll be treated with respect. Avoid Zajal Restaurant at all costs. Don’t fall for their fake hospitality it’s just a trap.

I recently visited Zajal Restaurant in Amman, and it was such a beautiful experience from start to finish. The place has a charming atmosphere — elegant yet warm, with lovely traditional touches that make you feel the Jordanian spirit. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, always smiling and making sure we were comfortable. The food was the highlight — everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and perfectly presented. The mezze selection was delicious, especially the hummus and tabbouleh, and the main dishes were full of authentic taste and generous portions. What I loved most was how relaxing the place felt — perfect for families, friends, or even a quiet evening. The music and lighting added to the cozy vibe. Overall, Zajal Restaurant is a wonderful spot if you’re looking for great food, great service, and a beautiful Amman dining experience. Highly recommended! 🌟

In almost two weeks of travelling through Jordan, we have not eaten as brilliantly as we have here at Zajal Restaurant in Amman. No matter what we ordered, whether cold or hot starters, various main courses or desserts everything tasted fantastic every time. Even the coffee at the end tasted far better than at other places. So we have visited Zajal three times and are so happy to have accidentally got an insider tipp about this restaurant. So if you're looking for a place to dine where the food is superbly cooked with a touch of individuality from the chef, everything is fresh and wonderfully aromatic, then be sure to visit Zajal. A real culinary feast for the palate awaits you! We would also like to thank the entire team for their first class service, Dorota and Peter from Berlin.

Zajal, nestled in the heart of old downtown Amman, is a culinary gem that invites patrons to savor the essence of Jordanian cuisine amidst a captivating atmosphere. The restaurant's ambiance seamlessly weaves together tradition and modernity, creating a unique dining experience that resonates with the rich cultural tapestry of Amman.

One can't help but be drawn into the warm and inviting setting of Zajal, where the echoes of Ammani history meet contemporary aesthetics. As you indulge in the culinary offerings, the aroma of freshly prepared tabbouleh wafts through the air, a testament to the restaurant's commitment to authentic flavors. Tabbouleh, with its vibrant medley of finely chopped parsley, tomatoes, and other herbs, exemplifies the freshness and quality of ingredients at Zajal.

The menu's star, sheesga, adds a delightful twist to traditional Jordanian fare. This flavorful dish, possibly a playful fusion of "sheesha" and "saga," showcases the culinary innovation that defines Zajal. Alongside the delectable cuisine, the ambiance is enhanced by the gentle bubbling of sheesha, creating an environment perfect for leisurely conversations and shared moments.

Zajal doesn't just offer a meal; it crafts an immersive experience, where the authenticity of Jordanian culinary traditions converges with the modern vibrancy of Amman. It's a haven for those seeking not just delicious food but an exploration of Jordan's cultural and...

Edit: no Wonder why the staff are so rude if this is how their owner response. First of all i said we were not loud we were a big table so eventually it will be loud specially with koud music. Second of all the water was closed we didnt drink from it. And the concern was why would they bring water and charge for it if i didnt ask for it. But now i know why ur staff is rude. Ur replay explains it all.

I wish I can give a zero star. To start with I went there with 7 other people and we put an order. Everything was okay until someone walked to our table to tell us to quite down because someone has complained that we were loud. It was very disrespectful because this is a cafe not a library and second of all music was loud and literally every other table was loud. So there action was so very disappointing. I asked for the check immediately and they guy has charged us for water that we didnt even ask for and when i asked he took half a dinar off. This place has rude staff and very much not considerate I dont...
