Cafe Paul — Restaurant in Almaty

The price is quite high for no reason. This is not my first time in this particular Paul. The food there is nothing special. I can easily cook at home the same dish or even better. I ordered tartine with chicken. In the photo, it looked good but in the reality it was awful. It was literally a piece of bread that was cut into 4 or 5 pieces and covered with cream cheese and dry chicken breast. I would never pay 2600 tenge for that. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Almaty. As an Indian tourist, I was shocked to be treated this way. The waiter, Kalibek Serik, was openly rude and dismissive. Every time I chose something from the menu, he claimed it was “finished.” Only after I complained did the item suddenly appear — proof that he was lying. His cold, unfriendly attitude came across as discriminatory and completely unacceptable.

When I visit this place it was quite empty. I made an order, however people who came after me somehow received their food first. I took almost 40 min for simple breakfast of 2 freaking eggs, salad, and mushrooms to arrive. When I questioned the waitress she said my food is being decorated lol! Anyhow my food was cold I asked to change it and I got a new plate in less than 5 min. I give this outlet multiple chances to prove me wrong, but I won’t come here ever again.
