I think I have a new favorite restaurant in town. Right of the bat, I want to thank the administrator of this establishment. It was a very spontaneous decision to have dinner here, so we showed up ten minutes to seven on a Friday night and were told all tables are reserved as it is a live music night starting shortly. But then the administrator emerged and went out of her way to organize a table for us. This what I call good customer service. The interior is very pleasing, both in the dining room and the bar—great attention to detail. While the menu mainly concentrates on contemporary European cuisine, there is a handful of modern Asian dishes. The excellent wine list and very extensive beverage menu, including a good choice of craft brews. The 'Beliy Mishka' ice cream cocktail is something out of this world! Much recommended. All food that we tried here was exceptionally delicious. Raspberry dressing complimented roasted beetroot and feta cheese perfectly, and finally, we got a proper feta cheese in the salad. Mouth-watering bruschetta and one with Dorblu cheese and pear will leave you craving for more. The aroma coming from wild mushrooms soup is divine. Crisp-skinned salmon with pea purée and soft-herb salad is a match made in heaven. Correctly made Osso Buco closing the list of culinary artworks that night. We really couldn't ask for more. And the live music made that evening simply perfect. Thanks to Diana Makina and the band for a fantastic performance. Prices are very fair here. We visited much more expensive restaurants in Almaty, and they failed to match the experience we had here. We definitely will be...

This was my second time to eat at Jambull. Both experiences were good, but this one was better. The food was good, but rankings are always dependent on service for me. Our server knew the rules of finer dining; he didn't let the bottle touch my glass while pouring. There were two of us eating and we ordered a plate with three brochettes as an appetizer. The server asked the kitchen to cut them in half so we would have two small pieces each. That's foresight and consideration. He also spoke English. That's not the most important thing but always a bonus when I don't have to struggle through my poor Russian. The desserts were excellent. We had a chocolate fondant and an apple strudel. Изысканный и со вкусом устроенный внутренний интерьер и негромкая фоновая музыка, оригинальное освещение, стильный бар и самое главное - изумительная кухня: на наш взгляд лучший в городе стейк из конины и бесподобный манговый чизкейк. Понравилось вино на апперитив. Очень важно, что оно разлито именно в винный бокал, который так оттеняет все ньюансы вкуса. А брускетта с грушей и сыром - достойное дополнение к апперитиву.
