Al Watany Restaurant — Restaurant in Ganjoni/Shimanzi ward

They sell shawarma, chicken tikka (barbecued) and other meaty dishes. The prices seem good at first (chicken tikka is 250 ksh). But when you order chicken and some rice and a water you realize how little you're getting for 400 ksh. It's bland. They also say it comes with a salad. Salad means a spoon of cabbage salad that's been sitting outside on the street for a day and they put it in the bottom of a paper bag that they hand the food to you. Very poor hygiene standards...

Cool little place with seating inside (with the fan straight on you, such a relief in the heat!) and seating outside as well.

The shawarma was delicious. Loved the sauce.

Nice waiters, good service.

Good prices as well. 220 for the shawarma.

If ever in Mombasa again, I would make sure to stop!
