Qaffee Point — Restaurant in Ganjoni/Shimanzi ward

I only had a waffle, and although it got busy after I came, there were only a few groups that came after me. It took them almost thirty minutes to get my a waffle with some ice cream, which is entirely unreasonable. People who came after me got their food before me.

My icecream had ice crystals, which suggests improper freezing, not good for dairy products. I was willing to let that slide as that is normal, but I got this plastic stick baked into my waffle, which I almost choked on.

I wouldn't really care about this, things happen, but the servers were fairly rude and didn't even bother apologizing. I knew that this was not normal for them because they immediately went to the kitchen, and did seem somewhat alarmed, so it was weird to not even get an I'm sorry for something I almost choked on and to instead be treated like I was inconveniencing them.

The place is nicely decorated and mostly seemed clean but I had a bit of a culture shock when other people started sitting at my table (a small round table that could max hold 3 people). One server asked me if it was ok, but other people jus came and sat anyways with permission from other servers.

The waffle and icecream we're absolutely delicious so that's why I didn't give them 1 star, but the service was terrible and the food handling is...

So here I am editing my review of this restaurant. I had given it four stars earlier. I am downgrading this now. Visited yesterday for lunch with friends. Sat in the family room downstairs. It was just about filled and we had to sit at an extremely uncomfortable low table..... very impractical for proper eating. The waitress came to take our order after a long while. We called her at least three times. The order took long... forgivable as we assume the food is freshly prepared. The waitress did not bring ordered water until we had almost finished the meal. The quality and taste of the food was also not good. The pita bread which came with the Lebanese platter came almost 15 mins after the rest of the dish had been served. They had no pockets and had to be returned for ones which would pocket for the fillings! We ordered pepper steak which came without the pepper steak sauce! A thin runny red sauce was given. The prawns had the same tasteless red sauce. There was an overabundance of chips...I presume to make up for the tasteless food. Anyway I was disappointed and it may take great persuation before I would go back again. So...

I ordered a chicken fried rice meal through Glovo, and I’m genuinely disappointed. I paid KSh 785, which is not a small amount for a single meal, especially considering what I received.

Despite clearly requesting low oil, extra salad, and a full banana, only a small amount of chili was included — everything else was ignored. They gave me half a banana again, even after I emphasized that I wanted a full one. The salad portion was minimal, and the rice was oily despite my request.

This isn’t the first time my instructions have been ignored, and it’s really frustrating as a loyal customer. If you’re going to allow people to leave specific requests, then the least you can do is read and respect them — especially when the pricing is premium.
