Tucked along the picturesque shores of Lake Victoria (Nam Lolwe), Dunga Hill Camp is a true gem for anyone seeking a blend of relaxation, good food, live music, and breathtaking scenery. Whether you're a local looking for a chill spot after a long day or a traveler exploring Kisumu, this place promises an unforgettable experience.
Unmatched Sunset Views Over Nam Lolwe
One of the biggest highlights of Dunga Hill Camp is its stunning sunset, easily one of the best in Dala Pacho. As the sun slowly dips below the horizon, the sky explodes into brilliant shades of orange, red, and purple, reflecting beautifully over the expansive waters of Lake Victoria. The view alone makes this place worth visiting, and there’s no better way to enjoy it than while sipping on a cold drink, listening to music, and feeling the cool lake breeze.
Unlike many other lakeside spots, the elevated position of Dunga Hill Camp gives visitors an even better vantage point of the lake, making the sunset feel even more magical. Whether you're seated at a table, lounging on the grassy slopes, or standing by the railing, you’re guaranteed a picture - perfect moment.
Easily Accessible & Perfect for Any Occasion
Dunga Hill Camp is conveniently located just a short drive or boda boda ride from Kisumu city, making it one of the most accessible lakefront destinations in the area. The well-maintained road leading to the camp ensures a smooth ride, and there's ample parking for those driving in.
The camp caters to all kinds of visitors - whether you're out on a romantic date, hanging out with friends, or looking for a peaceful solo escape, the ambiance is welcoming and relaxing. The open-air setting, combined with the rustic yet stylish decor, gives the place a laid-back, coastal feel that makes you want to stay for hours.
Delicious Food & Refreshing Drinks
No lakeside experience is complete without great food, and Dunga Hill Camp delivers on this front. One of the must-try dishes is the freshly grilled tilapia, caught straight from Lake Victoria and expertly prepared to perfection. Served with a side of ugali, fries, or traditional vegetables, this dish captures the authentic flavors of the region.
Beyond fish, the menu offers a variety of tasty options, including grilled meats, vegetarian meals, and light snacks for those who just want something to nibble on. The drinks menu is equally impressive, featuring cold beers, expertly mixed cocktails, fresh juices, and soft drinks - all served chilled to help you beat the lakeside heat.
Live Music & Vibrant Atmosphere
One of the things that truly sets Dunga Hill Camp apart is its live music scene. The camp regularly hosts talented bands and musicians who perform everything from soulful acoustic sets to lively Afro-fusion beats. The music perfectly complements the laid-back yet vibrant energy of the place, making it the ideal setting for unwinding as the sun goes down.
On some nights, the live performances turn into a full-blown party atmosphere, with people getting up to dance, clapping along to the beats, and fully immersing themselves in the fun-loving spirit of Dala Pacho. Whether you’re a fan of smooth jazz, reggae, or traditional Luo music, there’s always something to enjoy.

Read moreAt the recommendation of my Uber Driver I chose Dunga Hill Camp over Dunga Hill. Huge mistake! Inspire of the wonderful location, cool breeze and spectacular views my experience was completely destroyed by the absolute lack of customer service and rudeness of the staff. No staff to welcome you on arrival. Even after watching me and my family wandering around trying to find a spot to seat no one approached for help/suggestions. When we finally found a spot and sat ourselves it took 15 minutes before there was a waitress in sight. Didn't bother to welcome us or introduce herself and when that was pointed out to her she replied with "we don't do that here". After that point I had to walk up to the front twice in order to get a waiter to provide service. Mind you they were all congregated at the bar just talking with no regard for the customers needs out there. I asked for the Manager and was told he is not in today. I asked for who is in charge and was met with silence. I had to go too security in order to find out where the office is and finally found the so called assistant manager who doubles as the bartender. That is if he actually was the assistant manager! Completely no value for my money or time. This was an important occasion for me as I was meeting my soon to be mother in law. Go there at your own risk. I will never ever set foot in this place as long as I...
