Karibu Palms Resort - Diani Beach — Local services in Ukunda ward

Karibu Palms is nice, but the manager Steven isn’t an honest person. When we were close to arriving he switched off his phone and he wasn’t around.

The hotel said they were full even though Steven reserved for us 3 weeks before coming. They didn’t even have a reservation for us. Steven forced us to go across the street to another hotel called Madiba. We had no choice at 9pm.

Also Steven runs a tour guide company and multiple times he pressured us to book a tour; I think not wanting a tour affected his treatment toward us.

He promised us late check out, but on our last day he calls early morning to tell us to leave as soon as we can. What a joke.

Karibu Palms and Madiba shouldn’t have management that doesn’t care about...

Beautiful place, very nicely decorated, spacious with a beautiful beach and pools. Staff are great and very helpful. Food was outstanding and always different each time. I have 4 stars instead of 5 for 2 reasons, the first reason is much of the inside around the Zebra lounge area is very dark and at night time there is no entertainment as stated on the website, they just turn the music up a little and the stages are left dusty. In my opinion it shouldn't matter how many people are there, they all paid to receive what's advertised so entertainment should be on stage each night. If the night time was more lively and better lighting in the Zebra lounge I would give 5 stars.

Still a very nice place...

Previous owner of the cottage, accepted group booking for 6 family and we paid half of the booking amount during Easter holidays 2021. The agent said we can occupy within a year. Whenever we asked dates, they said the cottages are full. Later they said the cottage is sold to the new owner and she will refund 50% of our booking amount. Upon following, she refused to pay that also. Agents are not giving the Owner number, also not given enough time for us to use the bookings. Place was not available as per Google map when I visited South Coast. Hope this new management will do better and not take our hard earned money just...
