KEI Downtown — Restaurant in Mirqab

I came here for Suhoor with a friend.

The staff were amazing… we were seated immediately in the place we chose

The menu was good, cohesive, and the food descriptions were good.

We got negimiyaki, tuna tacos, a salad, some raw beef, and two rolls.

Every single thing was good.. I had no complaints. The food was delicious, while not the best Japanese food I ever had.

The ambiance was good, and the restaurant was connected to the assima mall, which was a nice surprise, however, the restaurant unfortunately has no distinct restroom, and you will need to go to the one in the mall. Thankfully it is not far.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience, and I would come here again and...

I patronize this KEI Downtown already sometime, not so long ago; since June 2024. Since then on, I visited this restaurant occasionally, when I want to eat Japanese food in Kuwait.

I've met with the owners, Japanese lady, and she told the story of this restaurant, which has been in Kuwait, with its ups and downs, since 35 years ago.

It has been moving from one place to another, and its place now at Al Assima Mall, is the latest place.

The food is good and enjoyable. While the place is clean and neat, it is a good place for you to spend your business chat with your business partner, or just enjoy the food with your loved ones.

10/5 place. Kei Downtown, located in the Assima Mall in the heart of Kuwait City, recently opened with the expectation of what everyone thought it would be...a simple yet exquisite restaurant offering us the most traditional japanese place in Kuwait.

From the Salad, Sashimi's and Nigiri's to the maki rolls, noodles and gyoza, this is a must visit!

The decor and ambience of the place really gives you a refreshing take on wooden furniture not to mention the chefs and live bar watching them master every dish coming out of the kitchen.
