Terrible Haunting Experience from a Lying Hotel Manager!
After a long drive from Bishkek, I was denied check-in because the room information stated a single bed. I was given the choice of paying an additional 6,000 Som or canceling my check-in (essentially being chased out).
Look at the booking that I printed. It clearly stated a twin bed, mountain view with breakfast for two adults for two nights. He refused my check-in because the room information was a single bed, and he said the price I paid was for a single bed and one adult.
He even had the audacity to challenge me to book the exact same booking with a different date and the same price. That's what I did; I chose the exact same booking with two adults and two nights at the same price!
Guess what! He twisted his words, saying it was a platform issue, and refused my check-in unless I paid 6,000 Som. Wait. Didn't you confidently challenge me to show the exact same booking with the same price for two adults, and now you're changing your story? What an imbecile and a liar.
Imagine the dreadful experience I had after a long drive with heavy luggage and a four-year-old child!
After almost an hour, I conceded because I was too tired. I said fine, give me the single bed for my wife and kids, and I can sleep on the floor; it's no issue. Still, he refused. At first, he said okay, but with no breakfast for both of us. Then he changed his mind and refused my check-in altogether.
This is the worst experience I've ever had, and I'm not sure if I'll ever forget this dreadful experience in Kyrgyzstan. It truly ruined my trip.
I'll never forget how he mercilessly told me to pay 6,000 Som, cancel my reservation, or pay an additional amount.
Look at the printed sheet and judge for yourself.
Never, ever trust this hotel when you're...
Read moreThis is a modern hotel. There are no lifts above the first floor. Porter to carry up bags-? Good luck with that. The water in my shower went off twice. The electricity went off a number of times. I appreciate this may not be in the hotels control. There was a constant noise from my gas water heater in my bathroom. The mechanism to hold up the showerhead wasn’t working in my room. I found the manager unhelpful and unresponsive. There is a charge for lost plastic room cards, I didn’t lose it but I noticed someone else did and there is a charge of 500 som. I felt this was mean. The food is of good quality and reasonably priced. It’s in a poor location, far away from the centre in a residential area and no maps to walk to parks or anything. There is a very noisy diesel generator that starts from time to time outside the rooms. I found the breakfast bar was not being filled up so no juices and some foods not available. The rooms are clean and smart, and there are some nice aspects to this hotel, but let down...
Read moreUnfortunately we had to experience an awkward service and room condition. We’ve discovered strong vibration and trembling technical noise inside the room(something like a huge drying machine or air conditioner). It was like sleeping inside the laundry room. We’ve complained several times to the reception guys. They’ve appeared to know the problem reason but first refused to do anything. They had other available rooms, BUT (crazy!) proposed us to pay for both rooms: the one with technical sound and the one he could move us due to inconvenience! During discussion the reception staff personnel behaved themselves arrogantly with strange attitude toward us. This is not our first time here. We used to return again for perfect quality of bedding, spacious rooms, good quality of cleaning. However, after such unacceptable service we do NOT recommend this hotel to other travelers to stay in Karakol. What a shame and disappointment for this...
