Kaogee Le Triomphe is a charming café and bakery located in the heart of Vientiane, offering a delightful mix of French-inspired and local Laotian flavors. It’s a cozy spot, perfect for a relaxing breakfast or a light lunch, with a welcoming atmosphere and comfortable seating.
The café’s specialty is their sandwiches, especially the signature “kaogee,” which is the Lao take on a baguette sandwich, filled with fresh ingredients like grilled meats, pickled vegetables, and herbs. The bread is always freshly baked, crisp on the outside and soft inside, making it a perfect base for their flavorful fillings. They also offer a range of pastries and baked goods, including croissants and cakes, that are great for those with a sweet tooth.
Coffee lovers will appreciate the well-made espresso drinks, which pair beautifully with the pastries. Their iced drinks are particularly refreshing on a hot day in Vientiane.
The staff at Kaogee Le Triomphe are friendly and efficient, and the service is quick even during busy hours. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the generous portions.
Overall, Kaogee Le Triomphe is a must-visit in Vientiane if you’re looking for a delicious, affordable meal with a blend of local and French flavors. It’s a great place to relax, enjoy good food, and soak in the laid-back vibe...
Read moreFood still good but service has declined steadily over the last year, to the point where I now need to leave this review. What sort of cruel restaurant delivers the food BEFORE the silverware? They've replaced the normal menus with a 'scan QR code for menu' -- if I wanted to use my phone, I would not have come to your restaurant! If you ask they'll bring you a paper menu and if you complain 'there's no breakfast on this menu' they'll finally bring you one of the old menus. Don't expect service to get any better during/after your meal either. No one comes to clear your plates anymore, or refill your drink, or even to ask if you need anything. After 20 minutes of being ignored I was finally able to get the attention of a waitress to bring my bill, and even that took another 5 minutes to be delivered. Understandable if the restaurant is busy, sure, but today it was empty! Weekend brunches have been a routine here ever since I moved to Vientiane but this was the final one, I'm absolutely sick of the disappointing service here. If you want Kaogee, order it online -- don't come to the restaurant. It's not what it used...
