This place is awesome. The baguette selection is second to none and it is incredibly good value. The vibe is great too.
Noah - My friend Patrick has not done this place justice, nor can anyone do this garden of Eden-like restaurant, with mere words from the English language, but I will do my best. When you arrive at this place you are greeted with both warmth and sincerity, lead to an area that you can converse in comfort, while subtly listening to the great array of music selected by these angelic staff. The food is sensational, served with a smile, a head nod, a subtle moment of communication that tells you everything will be okay. I bit into my baguette, and the crunch that met me, took me back to 1967, my grandmother walking out with a baguette and some homemade lemonade, the sound, the taste, sending me down a rabbit hole of spiralling amazement. My tastebuds alight, a smile protruding from the corners of my mouth. The smoothie meets a part of your stomach you never knew you had, planting a seed of hope, and a drop of joy, growing something you gain from a relationship between two close friends of years. I could not recommend this place more, if you are as lucky as we, to grace this field of wonder and ecstasy, please do not hesitate to share your experience, William Shakespeare could not write words wonderful enough to capture the beauty of this experience, thanks...
Read moreIf you want to wait 2 HOURS for your food for it to turn up and not be nice then come to this restaurant. Saw the reviews that said it was a bit of a wait for the food but to be waiting 2 hours for 2 red currys was quite honestly unbelievable. I was so hungry that I walked 5 mins down the road to the BIG C supermarket to get a couple of snacks to eat during the wait for the food. The couple sitting next to us were similarly waiting for 2 hours until their food arrived and all they ordered was some fresh fruit, fresh spring rolls and an omelette - I very much struggle to believe that this would take 2 hours to prepare and cook. To add , the restaurant was not that busy either, tables were available and staff just looked like they were standing around doing nothing (not even clearing tables). Our food arrived and it was the worst Thai red curry I have ever eaten (having eaten tons of them in both Laos and Thailand) - sauce was disgustingly sweet and was just overpowered by the tons of Thai basil added , masking the other flavours in the curry - both only ended up eating a couple of mouthfuls. Will be avoiding this restaurant at all costs and will be advising others to...
Read moreI came here at 2pm and was the only customer. The menu gives you plenty of options. As is typical in Laos, you only have about a minute before the waitress stands at your side waiting for you to order. Not to worry, just take your time looking through the menu.
I had the stir fried vegetables with chicken (25k). This came with rice. The portion is huge and definitely worth the money. It was also tasty.
The fried spring roll (25k) was pretty good too. Five rolls that were fragrant, but were oozing quite a bit of oil. The accompanying tomatoes and cucumbers helped to make the dish less sinful.
I had a coconut shake (10k). Again, this was huge, but towards the end, I started to taste condensed milk rather than coconut.
Unlike others, I was not offered coffee or tea, maybe because I had ordered a drink. However, I was offered a plate of sliced pineapple...
