Grill Pub — Restaurant in Ventspils

It looked nice from the side and kids friendly so we decided to try it out (even though it wasn’t on our lpreviously researched list) and frankly it was a bit of a disaster- the waitresses where really amazing and the atmosphere grate but the food… it was so dramatic that we actually left! 🫠 I ate my ramen and told my husband that I didn’t like it and he took one bite and was like “noup! Leave it!” 🙈 and our daughter simply refused to eat her pancakes even though she ALWAYS eats pancakes … idk how you can mess up pancakes 🫠 (I tasted them and didn’t really think much of them myself). My husbands burger on the other hand was rather nice and the food on the neighbouring table (the sushi) looked really tasty, so it might be just that we got unlucky. It’s a shame really cos the waitresses where really warm and friendly! But I feel like my ramen is really not going...

This is an honest and not emotional review, please take it seriously: Food: The food was dissapointing for a "Pub". If you ordered a burger in the UK and it arrrived without chips you'd ask if they forgot the rest of your order. Whilst a lot of ingredients were missing, somehow it was also a strange and unique mix of flavours you'd not usually expect from 'surf and turf'. Food incredibly overpriced for what it is. Service: When the waitress brought the food, we asked which burger it was and she said "I don't know, it has bacon". Atmosphere: The music was fine but at a high volume and worse it kept pausing to buffer, absolutely 'not' annoying.. The toilets stank, there were no hand towels and only 1 in 3 cubicles did...

Nice place to eat, tasty sushi dishes. The service was quick, although the waiters are not very sociable. Haven’t tried any dishes apart from sushi menu yet, but sushi are all good, big in size and have a lot of fish in them. Sushi burger with shrimp was also delicious and huge, it’s hard to finish it alone. Drinks are fine, although most of the time it’s impossible to get anything from smoothies or milkshakes, because their blender never seems to be working fine. Overall I recommend to visit this restaurant in the summer and sit on the terrace, since it’s quiet cozy and protected...
