Kii Beirut — Restaurant in Port of Beirut

I visited Kii PubResto again (1st time was for a 5.00-8.30 afternoon with open prosecco or wine & cheese / salads buffet aperitivo option for $23). The 2nd time was on a Wednesday for a French music & ladies’ night as recommended by Mr. Claude (the new managing partner), who insisted that I come making it look as a personal invitation. There was a lot of ladies coming solo & benefiting from the free drinks (mostly Prosecco), but wasn’t offered to my lady. The DJ wasn’t very successful in choosing his repertoire & the atmosphere was not lively (none of the attendants was dancing). We were properly greeted by Mr. Claude and our server was professional. All the food portions were small requiring us to order more plates. Although the menu wasn’t overpriced for the quality offered but the small quantities served makes it feel as such. Overall, while I believe that the pub has great potentials, the combination of non vibrant music, and small food portions, in addition to the price paid, caused that our visit be a disappointing experience. I am sure the first 30 reviews are by the owner's friends and family but anyway.. Service is so so.. They still don't understand what a Gin Martini is and despite all my efforts at explaining they serve it in a tall glass on ice.. Moscow Mules were equally far from the real thing.

Food. All mediocre.. We ordered around 7 plates to share and none was good whether it's Salmon tartare, crab salad, scallops or the Gyoza (those were actually really bad and the meat inside tasted weird).

Atmosphere is the usual one in a supposedly hip place in Lebanon.

Music was ok and thank God not that loud.

Of course it is very expensive for what it is.. As usual they charge you NY and Dubai prices in a country that is supposed...

Had a lovely afternoon brunch at Kii Beirut. The staff were super friendly, the music was great, and the overall vibe was really chill and enjoyable.
