Volungė — Restaurant in Palanga

Very delicious and filling portions. The restaurant is at a very calm street, away from all the other crowded and wanna be disco restaurants. Prices are fair for Palanga region and the portions won't upset you. The Cuba libre we ordered had a decent amount of alcohol in it, most restaurants here are stingy about alcohol but not this one. But if you want to pay less (if you are a student or low income traveler), definitely bring your own alcohol/beverage with you to all the restaurants since they are very overpriced compared to the local shops. Staff is very friendly and helpful, they do speak English. Food came out very quickly, it was fresh and clean. Definitely ask for the soup of the day, it is cheap (1.70€) and very filling (comes with bread on the side) as well as yummy. The atmosphere is okay, the service is also just “okay”, but the worst part was the food - the bbq cheese pork steak was bearable but the potato pancakes were just swimming in oil. Generally there might be some oil coming out due to the nature of the dish, but this time it was more oil than of the actual pancake, also had huge bits of raw onion in it. Their “homemade” lemonade is just fizzy water mixed with a small amount of some sort of jam or just cinnamon. Very odd. Also the bathroom was filthy. Overall, had to wait for food for 1,5 hours. Atėjome prisiklausę gerų atsiliepimų, bet mums didelio įspūdžio nepaliko. Lankėmės tris kartus atostogų metu, ir nei vieno karto nebuvo pilnai sėkmingo... Tiesiog, valgyklinis maistas ir tiek. Viduje sėdėti yra labai nejauku, nes staliukas prie staliuko, trūksta privatumo, o ir jei pilna žmonių, tai gaunasi turgaus atmosfera. Nei vieną dieną neturėjo šaltalankių arbatos. Dienos sriuba buvo nevalgoma, nes burokėlių sriuba turi būti ryškiai raudona ir su burokėliais, o ne kažkoks pilkas bulvių marmalas su grietine... Ir prie vištienos, ir prie kiaulienos, yra dedamas vienodas daržovių garnyras. Iš žuvies nieko neragavome, bet matyt ir prie lašišos deda burokėlius su kopūstais... Balandėliai meniu nurodyta, kad patiekiami su pomidorais, tačiau gavome su burokėliais. Matyt per daug sudėtinga informuoti klientą, kad garnyras bus kitoks, nei nurodyta meniu... Lietiniai su mėsos įdaru buvo kažkas baisaus... Malta mėsa buvo vien su visokiom kremzlėm ir kietom visokiom mėsos dalim... Tragedija, o ne įdaras ! Atėjus 11.20h nebegalima nieko užsisakyti iš pusryčių meniu... Kurortas, Palanga, ir puse dvylikos neįmanoma užsisakyti nei vieno patiekalo iš pusryčių meniu... Padavėja griežtai pasakė, kad pusryčių meniu galioja tik iki 11h. Tai matyt kelios minutės po 11h nebeturi ingredientų iš ko pagaminti, ir virtuvėje nebėra darbuotojų :D :D :D P.s. : saldainis prie kavos labai mielai atrodo, tačiau po šitiek nesklandumų jis...
