DOZO restaurant — Restaurant in Hesperange

Dozo is a fairly new Asian restaurant In Hesperange, Luxembourg. I had driven past several times and told myself that I should try it soon. Yesterday I tried it. My wife was in hospital recuperating from surgery and I wasn’t in the mood for cooking, although usually I’m pretty keen in the cookery department. Why not try it? i thought. And as I don’t live too far away I drove down there for lunch. Parking is plentiful in tthe area surrounding Dozo but I struck lucky as there was an empty slot right outside. My welcome inside was warm and friendly and I found myself at a table, enjoying an aperitif and studying the menu. Theere was a wide sushi selection, and some delicious-sounding but new-to-me Chinese dishes. I settled for a plate of assorted sushi, one of my weaknesses. I sipped my whisky as I waited for my lunch, chatting with the lady who was in charge. As I finished my drink lunch arrived and at first glance appeared to be beautifully prepared. First taste proved even better - the freshness spread around my mouth, making me pause to study the food on my plate. It looked attractive and proved as fresh as you can get. I wanted to hurry so that I could try all the different types that were arranged so temptingly but my common sense cut in and made me take it slowly. I was rewarded by a meal that I raved about to my wife when I went in to visit her later. The result is that as she will be discharged from hospital this afternoon I shall be taking her there for lunch this evening. As I told her, you shouldn’t let a great opportunity...

We went because of many good ratings on google reviews, now I really doubt it these were authentic. We went as a big group and was quite disappointed by the service & value for money. The waiter came 3 time asking if we want any alcohol, and even sarcastically said we should order some as we are so many when she took the menu away. Then, she clearly seemed unhappy, not taking away empty plates, not delivering the source we wanted for more than 20mins. Aside from the bad service and very cold room, the food came very small portion and expensive for the price even for Luxembourg standard. I will never go back again. Wow! This place was Awesome! I loved loved loved Karmen! From the moment she greeted us she had such a fun personality! We sat down ordered drinks and honestly in our group dining, we wanted to try everything! And she heard that and ran with it! The portion sizes was perfect to share. The food was bursting with a lot of flavor! And my favorite was the Canard in a Crepe(?) that was probably the best! I should have asked for take away on that one!
