Restaurant Le jardin Gourmand — Restaurant in Hesperange

My partner and I arrived at the restaurant at 12:25 pm. We ordered, gave details on how we would like the meat to be cooked. We waited ONE HOUR and 15 minutes (as everyone else did too - not sure what was the issue with the kitchen). We kindly asked twice the waiter how long our food would take, he said “10 more minutes” which became 20+ at the end. Once the food arrived, the beef I ordered was absolutely not what I had asked for, so we sent it back. When it was served again, it still was not cooked enough. After such a bizarre waiting time, the food was not even well prepared. When we asked for the bill, we mentioned we would like to receive a discount from the waiting and the food not being what we had asked for. The owner refused saying we did not wait “that long” and we could not expect a discount for the meat not being cooked at the right term. Incredible. Everyone else at the restaurant complained about the waiting period, and the owner had the audacity to say we did not wait...

I was invited to a birthday dinner and I was looking forward to attend as the reviews were all good. Unfortunately, I was disapointed.

The food was not that good, especially if you consider the relatively high price.

The worst aspect was the service. It was horrible! I have never experienced such a service. Our waiter was simply mean and so unfriendly. (I was not the only one who thought like that, our whole table of 9 people agreed)

Even if the food would have been great, I would never ever go back! It was such a waste of time and money (I did not pay for anything as it was a birthday celebration. That would be even worse to spend money on such a terrible experience.)

I ate at your restaurant on Saturday evening 16 December and was very disappointed with food and service. Waiter was unsmiling and without charm. Filet of salmon dry and tasteless and the few vegetables limp and uninteresting. I was shocked that you used 'croquet' potatoes from a package and not home made! My desert was even worse: a mountain of meringue with an even larger mountain of cream from a spray can on top and a dribble of red sauce (from a jar) on the bottom. One glass of wine with this miserable meal and I paid 40€! Will not visit your...
