A very disappointing experience, following a Sunday stroll with the family.
Hesper Park is one of the few places one can have a coffee/tea/hot chocolate after a few hours out in the parc around the restaurant, the number of other venues in Hesperange being generally limited.
I viewed the news, a few months back, of a restaurant at that location being planned as positive and the eclectic menu intrigued me.
Today, however, our family (2 adults, 2 kids) were turned away at 13:20h from Hesper Park, as they don't serve customers not willing to eat lunch before 15:00h. I find it essentially quite rude to project archaic dining habits/hours (12h-14h? and tea 15h) upon one's customers - especially on a Sunday - where there should be a possibility to deviate from the established weekday schedule. Particularly in that location, where families go for a weekend bumble in the fresh air.
It's a shame, as there is at least one low-rise table with comfy seating, on which it's impossible to eat lunch and would have suited us perfectly. Moreover, maybe only 60-70% of seats at the remaining normal height tables were taken. They wouldn't have had to turn any "hungry eaters" away...
As I said at the outset, the place had piqued my fancy and I wanted to bring business partners and colleagues here to test the elaborate dishes and the mix between traditional Luxembourgish and more modern French cuisine - but I don't feel I need to support restaurants that are inflexible beyond reason and, consequently, family-unfriendly.
Were in 2019 and shouldn't have to accept archaic customs (apparently the norm for restaurants in Luxembourg to open only for lunch and dindins).
I've decided to blacklist this establishment and will disseminate my negative experience among the folks...
Read moreWe had unfortunately a very disappointing experience here. The Easter menu which we had, was… definitely not good. The starter was basically a raw egg, which I could barely eat. The main course was a fried cordon bleu but the meat was awful and seemed still raw as well… Also we had the experience that the waiter charged us way too much for a menu we didn’t even had. We immediately complained but once back home we realized that they also charged us with drinks which were never consumed… we got the reimbursement after calling them once again. Of course the restaurant is very pretty from the inside with a lovely view on the park but the food...
Read moreGreat dinner/brunch option close to Lux City Centre. Lovely airy and open space with very tasteful and warm decor. Situated bordering Hesper Park, its outdoor options are highly recommended as soon as the weather allows, as you are surrounded by the greenery of the park. Food has never disappointed and prices are average Luxembourg prices. Nice variety of choice of dishes, although their vegetarian options don't include vegan options, which is a shame for those who for their reasons follow a vegan diet. Very much enjoy the relaxed and...
