Came here for dinner with my husband for the first time because I was longed for mee tarik. Food was ok but the service and the cleanliness of the restaurant were very poor! We sit inside the restaurant and my first impression about it, the surrounding looks a bit dirty, even our table were not really clean(the table was a bit sticky). I ordered braised beef noodle soup & honey chrysanthemum while my husband ordered orange Fanta and chicken shashlik. The braised beef noodle soup was nice, but unfortunately their chilli oil doesn't help with the spiciness of the soup so I had to add more chilli oil in it(and it still doesn't taste spicy much). Our drinks came in late but when it arrives, they got my husband's drink wrong and didn't replace it right after it and have to wait another 10 mins (had to call their waiter and said haven't received my husband's drink). Our table doesn't have the tupperware that's filled with the chopsticks, spoons & fork, so I had to ask from the other table for it. (The waiter doesn't even bother to give one even though my noodle soup arrives after I ordered it and he knows that our table doesn't have it). While I was eating, I suddenly felt something that crawled on my foot. I thought it was a tissue that was blown away. When I looked down, to my surprise, it's a freaking huge cockroach that was crawling on my foot! I quickly brushed it away and didn't say a word because if my husband knew it, he'll definitely make a scene. My husband's chicken shashilk arrives 40 mins after my noodles were arrived and I have to call again for the waiter to check back if the chicken shashilk had been prepared or not. I've finished my meal but my husband still haven't received his food. The chicken shashilk was ok, but due to the very late service, my husband didn't enjoy it much. Will never come again due to...
ย ย ย Read moreI think all those mee tarik Chinese Muslim places that closed down, works here.
Strategically located in the heart of Taman Melawati and easily accessible with some ample parking (sometimes) is Kung Fu Ramen or mee tarik lam mien.
As the name implies, they do not use kung-fu, but the moves to pull the noodle from a slab of dough into fine ramen noodles look like they're doing kung-fu.
One thing about mee tarik or hand pooled noodles, there's a ton of varieties of dishes to choose from. The braised beef or chicken or lamb, the clear soup, the spicy broth, the deeming spicy but not broth and other options.
I tried the braised beef pulled noodle, Xinjiang broth noodle and dry chicken dumplings.
One thing I can say is that this is the tastiest and most delicious mee tarik I've ever had. I have had many mee tarik, and I can attest that this is the best I have had so far. The broth is devilishly red, but the chilli oil is separate, so it's not spicy, and even kids can enjoy the fiery red broth.
The dry dumplings is worth the value as its quite a lot. Portions of the noodle, the contents and broth well worth the price.
If you dine in, the service is better than take away. Seems for take away they're a little bit clueless with your order as happened with mine. They should have a dedicated take out counter.
This is one mee tarik place that I would come again and again. No wonder this...
