Came here for the second time, honestly just for the tiramisu. The first time was way too early in the morning. So this time we arrived around 4pm, but they told us it would only be ready around 4.30pm, and we can’t reserve it, so we just had to wait.
While waiting, we ordered drinks, hot chamomile tea and an iced americano. The chamomile came out definitely not hot. More like lukewarm or even baby milk warm? Not sure, but it was far from the hot we expected. The cups were small, and for the price, felt a bit overpriced. As for the americano, it leaned more towards the acidic side, not bad, but not really our kind of coffee.
Finally, the tiramisu came out. The price was okay for the portion, but to be honest, the taste was just biasa je nyah. Not bad, but not something we would personally queue up for. Prolly they use cream cheese instead of mascarpone, can tell from the slightly tangy flavour, which takes away that rich, creamy feel for a tiramisu. It was not bad, kinda overrated though.
Some things that annoyed us were the the cocoa powder that was way too much and kind of covered up the real tiramisu taste, and the wooden disposable spoon. We get that it’s probably for the aesthetic value, but honestly, it ruined the whole experience a bit, we could really taste the wood in every bite, and it spoiled the enjoyment a little.
The cafe was quite packed, and it was hard to tell if the crowd were actual customers or just friends of the owners. Just a heads up, if you come here, try not to sit in front of the counter. The space isn’t that big, and people keep walking past, so it was a bit uncomfortable.
All in all, not a bad spot, but probably wouldn’t come back just for...
Read moreI went there specifically for the tiramisu. I used to buy it at Monet Ampang Park, but since it went viral, they only sell it at the mwt branch. My verdict on the food: it’s not that good. They used cream cheese instead of mascarpone, and the coffee flavor isn’t strong, which defeats the purpose of a “tiramisu.” I also ordered an iced latte, but the size was very small, and the cup wasn’t full. The price is ridiculously expensive.
The service was awful, even though there were plenty of staff. I ordered an iced latte, but no one made it. I waited 30 minutes (because I was also waiting for the tiramisu), and my order still didn’t arrive. I went inside to remind them, and they acknowledged it but still didn’t make the drink. Eventually, they handed me a pre-made latte that had been sitting on their table.
Additionally, they never mentioned that only one person is allowed to get one tiramisu. If I wanted two, I had to queue for a second batch. I queued again since we were promised two tubs, but we only received one. The girl in front of me got two. I queued for a third batch, as I was promised two tubs again, but the girls ahead of me received two while I was told they needed to reserve some for other people. Why did the girls before me get two,...
Read moreI read the reviews before coming here, so I came in to test my expectations on food quality and staff friendliness based on the reviews.
Was expecting a longer wait but our food came out in 8 mins (my daughter took out the timer ☺️) but when we got here first, the counter guy was MIA 😅 we saw him walk out (we guessed him) as we were walking in - so a suggestion is for the store to maybe put up a sign that says be right back. The two cook in the kitchen saw us but weren’t brave enough to walk out and tell us kejappp ye kak 🤭 so the cashier came back in about 5 mins after.
My verdict - food was a bit salty, it was ok but I don’t know whether eq. to the price charged, cooked by two very young gentlemen 😅 leads me to believe that this was a joint venture between friends. Both dishes with their bread was salty, although the menu said sourdough I doubt they were. I think because they grilled the bread using salted butter on top of putting cheese and seasoned scrambled eggs on it, and also it was super thin so it sponged all the salt and butter in.
The cashier was friendly. Music and deco was chic and fine, but I wouldn’t score this past a 4 based on the food quality vs Price, but a good place for ambience to chill with coffee...
