Chagee@ Hann’s Esplanade Sibu — Restaurant in Borneo

Despite the inviting ambiance, my visit to Chagee in Sibu left me thoroughly disappointed. The lack of basic customer service, as noted by several other reviewers, was glaringly evident. The staff showed no inclination to greet or smile at customers, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere.

What's more concerning is the incompetence displayed when I inquired about recommended drinks or top-selling items. The staff seemed utterly clueless, unable to provide any guidance or assistance. Such negligence towards customers' inquiries reflects poorly on the establishment.

I had a terrible experience at this Chagee branch. Despite the store being empty, the staff showed no interest in serving me. There was no greeting, just cold, unwelcoming behavior. They hesitated to pack up the drinks, likely not wanting to give us the bags. My drink sat on the counter for a good minute before they reluctantly packed it. While the drinks themselves were fine, the poor customer service completely ruined the experience. I have many Chagee branches in east and west Malaysia before and by far this is the worst. This branch needs serious improvement in its service standards.

I’ve tried many drinks from Chagee Sibu branch, and honestly, the quality here is noticeably worse compared to other Chagee outlets. Most of the drinks taste like watered-down versions of what they’re supposed to be — barely any flavour, just bland and disappointing. I expected better from a premium brand.
