Fish Maw Soup Pipa Duck Hakka Yam and Pork Belly Broccolli and Mushroom African Fish

I visited the restaurant with my family on a trip to visit our relatives here in Sabah, coming from Singapore.

Location offers a very reasonable and presentable atmosphere suitable for nearly all tiers of events in my opinion.

All dishes presented are in good order in terms of taste and especially in volume, particularly when comparing to Singaporean restaurant, much to our delight.

The African Fish requires special mention as we have never tasted anything as fresh and as succulent as what we were offered, without any taste of geosmin (mud taste) as would usually be expected from river fish. The sauce used on the fish was also well balanced and appetising.

Pipa duck was also in fair order but perhaps due to differences in expectated taste profile for my experience in other regions, this one felt less crispy by a tad bit, and leaned on the sweeter side.

Fish maw soup was of a huge volume and had no unfavorable deviations in terms of taste, and did well as a intermission between dishes.

Hakka pork belly and yam was something we looked forward to but again perhaps due to our past experiences informing our expectations now, it appeared to be a little on the sweet side, and the yam used seemed to be at same volume as the pork belly, which may result in a slight tendency to feel very overwhelmed. Otherwise, a good dish.

Service was excellent, amongst the best in my short duration of experience here, waiters were sharp to observe our needs and took initiatives where appropriate, and accommodating where possible.

I paid RM1000 deposit on 13 Apr 2021 for the wedding dinner. Wedding forced to cancel due to MCO and I never ask for a refund. Instead, I use 50% of it to order for my baby's full moon. I went back to dine in on 8th May 2022 and waited MORE THAN ONE HOUR for them to settle the billing. I waited patiently. I was told to show them the receipt and I did. And I was told to avoid this hassle I should make a booking earlier so they got to prepare. So I did and I went again yesterday (I made a booking one day earlier). When I was going to clear the bill with my deposit, the arrogant lady at the front desk told me I should have told her before I started my meal so she could prepare. I told her I already told during booking, did your manager pass a message to you? So she kept quiet without any apology for her bad attitude and asked me to wait. She then serves other customers with her arrogant attitude. I waited more than half hour and she still did not settle for me. I told her I have waited so long and I need to leave. I ask her to settle the bill and call me if there is any I need to top up and I leave. The first experience with May Flower was so good as I was being served by Ah Chang. Now that he has left the restaurant. The big size lady manager and front desk arrogant women make your service become the top worst in KK. So many people complain about your manager. Management please...

Visited the restaurant for Father’s Day dinner.

The food was great! We didn’t order any seafood except for fish head because we are from a "seafood" city. We always have seafood at home, so seafood outside doesn’t really attract us HAHA

Black Pepper Beef : Not too hard and super flavorful. Loved this!

Four Seasons Beans with Dried Prawns and Minced Beef : Crunchy and flavorful! Suka!

Braised Pork Slices with Salted Fish : Super recommended! Just order with your eyes closed, okay ?

Assam Fish Head : Recommended too! Loved having the flavorful gravy with rice 🤤 I’m drooling now HAHA (it’s not in the photo as it arrived later,we realized we didn’t take any pics of it )

Pipa Duck : So-so for us. We’ve had better at other places.

Super in love with their service: super attentive, filling up our tea whenever it’s half-full, and always ready to help. Most probably because it wasn’t too packed that time , so they could give us more attention.

They also helped us store our cake and prepared small plates and spoons when we were ready for it. Would definitely visit again to try other items...
