My upmost favourite char koey teow in Penang , it’s so good that it’s the first for me to go whenever I am in Penang . 😍 An elderly uncle around his 60’s does it and it’s situated in the same row as public bank . Looks like a normal Chinese coffee shop but even when passing by the koey teow smell will definitely pull your attention ✨ The coffee shop to me is very classic , has a very 80-90’s nostalgic feel and nice to dine in here . 👍🏻 There have a row of shops such as curry mee , yee mee , chee cheong fun and many more but as I said char koey teow is the must try ✅ The char koey teow was RM6 each and comes with huge juicy prawns . Biggest plus is that you can tell specifications for each plate ( Eg : I didn’t want kerang and more spicy ) . It can be done because the uncle does it according to each plate . 💯 He does each plate one at a time so it might need you to wait but trust me the wait is worth . Quantity is small but yummylicious and you’ll easy get full even after just one plate . ☺️ Overall , this place is a must try for char koey teow lovers ....
Read moreThis is one of the most bad attitude CKT in town. They expect patron to know their ordering system. For me, I do not know him. Well he is NOT that famous and I did not come here to eat his food. When I ordered, the cook was the only person @ the stall. Seeing that he was bz and knowing that normally orders are taken by other stall staff, I waited for someone to come. So I ordered from his worker cum server. After 30mins, I saw a guy serving the orders and confirmed with him on my order. He then told me they were out of CKT and blamed me for not ordering from him, in an arrogant and rude manner. This is not the first time I have my orders declined because ingredients are finished. But this is the first time a stall did it this way. I then ordered other food and realised patrons arriving later were served CKT (! ?) Advance ordering system or VIP previledge? I am sorry that I am not giving review on the CKT, which I did not manage to try. But I suppose I will never get to..... So, be warned if you are...
Read moreOne of the best Char Keow Teow in Penang. Nice flavors including the right amount of wok breath (caramelization due to high heat of the wok... gives off a slightly smoky flavor). Very tasty with large prawns. The regular portion is rather small so usually i would go for large. Warning this char koew toew has higher oil content and spicy. Thus those preferring a 'drier' style might find this unappealing but by god this taste awesome... BTW be ready for a wait as the sifu goes two plates at a time only... busy days can be as long as 30 to 45mins so not ideal for a quick bite. Hint take a look at sifu's shoulder muscles... Besides the char koew teow the hokkien noodles (prawn noodle spicy soup) and the clear koew teow th'ng is also...
