SSAMBAP Korean BBQ Restaurant — Restaurant in George Town

Worst service I had in Korean restaurants. Mood spoiler restaurants.

Its the first time that I have to walk to their counter and help them carry our food in Korean restaurants, and yet they do not deliver the expectation.

1. Slow service.
2. Complain multiple time, so call refill side dish. But they don't looks like wanting to refill when we request, took an hour for them just to refill.
3. Ordered set lunch, with drinks. The drink only arrive after multiple time of complain, and we had finish our food. And it's just a Tropicana Twitter orange juice, wondering how hard for them to just pour and give us.
4. serve us most of the side dish, without the rice we order.

Suggestion : 1)change your staff or hire some one who is capable to manage. 2) hire more people, pretty obvious there's not...

My sis in law reserved table for 14 on 1st day of CNY, 7pm. Unfortunately, Ssambap allowed double booking for another group of people at 7pm as well! Just because we weren't early but arrived just in time, we found out that the table was occupied by someone else, ready to make orders! We approached the lady owner or manager (whoever she was) to seek for clarifications but she refused to look at us in our eyes or provide satisfactory explanation. One of the better Korean food restaurant around Penang area. They provide a wider range and variety of small dishes usually served before the main course. Price is pretty reasonable too.

Update: Oct 2023 Overall this place still serves good Korean food. Service is super good and atmosphere is also nice. We ordered a few food, the ones good are the seafood pancake, fried dumpling, steamed egg and also the tofu soup. The meat barbecue is a bit of hit and miss. Some of my family members says the meat is hard but for me, I can still chew but probably it is a bit hard. Overall pricing is still okay...
