Capybara Pudding = RM16.00 Service Charge 10% = RM1.60
This Capybara Cafe is located right next to a Alpaca Cafe called "As Clouds" and they share the Same Petting Zoo. Due to Hygiene, the Animals are relocated to 2nd Level while the 1st Level is for Dining only. I have no issues as the Animals have more Free Space to roam about.
The Dining Area is Cleanly Maintained, Very Simply Renovated and Air-Conditioned. Staffs are Friendly and Polite and are Patient with Kids.
The 1 Cup of Carrot Sticks per Table Rule
Take note no matter how many items you ordered or how many people are in your Group, 1 Table is only given 1 Cup of Carrot Sticks for feeding the animals. I accept this rule as Overfeeding is not good for their Health in the Long Run.
Capybara Pudding = RM16.00
This is a Chocolate Pudding sitting on Chocolate Syrup with a Few Pieces of Mango. I think the Syrup is Hersheys Dark Chocolate? Its nice tasting but Very Sweet. The Mango were Alright, not Super Sweet, not Sour.
The Capybara Pudding itself is Adorable! I LOVED taking the Back of my Spoon and Piak it to make it Jiggle! So Jiggly!
The Pudding is not the Super Soft Type and has a Slightly Tender Soft Bite that tastes like a Light Chocolate Milk. Not Overly Sweet. Its quite a Chonky Size that I reckon would be Perfect for 2 Kids to Share.
The Petting Zoo is located OUTSIDE of the Cafe, accessible only via a Flight of Staircase up to 2nd Level. There is 1 Staff Member here who seems Knowledgeable about the Animals.
Its Spacious, Air-Conditioned and Very Cooling. Completely Not Decorated at all and Looks Very Empty and Spartan. There is a Restroom at the Back. Very Cleanly Well-Maintained and there are No Unpleasant Smells.
Personally, I felt the Petting Zoo Area really looked Too Plain and Empty. Because Children are the Main Clientele of this Place, I thought it would be nice if they could decorate the Area to a More Colourful Children-Friendly Theme? Or put up Small Little Educational Information Posters about the Animals for Visitors to Read?
You're allowed only 30mins here but I feel they aren't strict about the time limit and chasing people out.
The Whole Place has only 2 Capybaras, 2 Alpacas and 1 Llama. Come visit my Facebook Food Blog: "A Solo Singaporean's Guide to JB Foods (And More!)" for more details about them.
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
I like that the Animals all look Healthy and Well-Fed. The Petting Zoo Area was Well Kept and Cleanly Maintained and their Furs were Clean and did not smell bad. I also liked that the Animals are all so Docile and Tame.
Despite being a Capybara Cafe, I feel the Alpacas are the ones that Stole the Show. They're much more Active and Friendly compared to the Capybaras who are most of the time just lying on their Grass Patch. I could tell Everyone had alot more Fun with the Alpacas and Llama.
I am Impressed with the Staffs who are Genuinely Friendly and Especially Patient and All Smiles with the Kids. They are a Big Part of why I can recommend this place. They really are Friendly and you can see them trying their best.
At the Total Combined Price of RM17.60 (S$5.50) for the Capybara Pudding, this is not Cheap but I didn't mind paying for this because its also not that Expensive lah. Its really Adorable and fits in the Theme of this Place well.
The Rest of the Food Items in the Menu aren't Cheap, but thats to be expected for a Themed Cafe like this. What I am surprised is they don't have a Retail Gift Shop to sell Capybara-Themed Souvenirs.
There aren't alot of Animals but I feel they're enough for the Available Space they have. Too many Animals and it might get too Crowded especially when the Crowds at the Petting Zoo gets Larger.
If you are ok with their Ground Rules, their Menu Prices and the Various other Things I've described in this Review, I can recommend to bring your Kids here to let them have some Fun.

Read moreWonderful and unforgettable experience with Capyba Cafe!
I was initially skeptical about visiting the Capybara Café in JB as part of our itinerary, especially since it only opened last year. The mixed Google reviews made me even more hesitant. However, I understand that new cafés can take time to stabilize, and I noticed improvements in recent reviews, which gave us the confidence to give it a try.
We visited on Valentine’s Day 2025 during lunch, and to our surprise, the experience exceeded our expectations. The food arrived quickly, the staff were incredibly efficient and friendly, and the quality of the food was excellent.
As for the animals, we absolutely adored the alpacas, llamas, and capybaras. They were so cute, and we appreciated the staff’s guidance on how to interact with them properly. A little tip for those planning to visit: if you're feeding the alpacas and llamas with the provided cup of carrots and leaves, be prepared—they can be quite eager! To avoid being overwhelmed, you can "hide" the cup out of their sight and feed them one strand at a time. The capybaras, on the other hand, are much more relaxed and truly live up to their chill reputation.
At the same time, do remember to finish the cup of carrots and leaves within the given time, if not, your pocket or bag might end up taking the carrots/ leaves home as an unexpected souvenir!
Overall, we had a fantastic time! If you're planning a visit, be patient, be kind to the staff, and set aside enough time to fully enjoy both the dining experience and the animal interactions. Don't forget to return the feeding cup at the end. Enjoy,...
Read moreWe checked out this cafe on a Monday afternoon and it was relatively empty. We looked around for the capybaras and were told that we were supposed to buy a food/drink for each pax then go upstairs with our receipts to see them.
When we entered the space holding the animals, we weren't required to disinfect our hands and take off our shoes, but we are allowed to touch all the animals on-site (2 capys and 2 llamas). The llamas wandered around the room while the capys were in a small enclosure with a shallow tray of grass (?) and a bowl of water. All animals weren't very active and only responded when we fed them the cup of carrots provided. There was nothing in the room similar to the capys' and llamas' natural habitats. Capys are tropical animals that spend a lot of time underwater while llamas are native to cool climates with low humidity. the Aircon in the room was strong, I assume to accommodate the llamas, but there was basically nothing else in the room. The llamas continuously scratched themselves and their fur was matted and dirty at certain parts. Halfway through our visit, the staff wanted to lead one of the less responsive llamas into another room for unknown reasons but it ran away from them. They eventually caught the llama and ushered it into another room and let it out after a few minutes.
I am unsure as to how these animals are actually treated and provided behind closed doors, but just from what I've seen, they deserve a lot more care and amenities than what has been shown currently. I wouldn't recommend anyone to visit this cafe as this is a clear money grab at the expense of...
