The location of the hotel was relatively pleasant - close to eateries, convenience stores, pharmacies, and only a 20-minute drive from JPO. ||||The hotel team's service was not too bad. They were friendly, as helpful as they can be given that they needed to make do with the product they were working in, and responsive. Though, there was one of them who was a trainee that didn't have any sense of being helpful whatsoever during my check-in. ||||I booked a family room (x1 queen bed + x1 single) and a deluxe double (x1 queen bed) for the long weekend. Both rooms smelled funky, like it hasn't been occupied for a while. The windows were dusty, there were minor dirt stains around the edges of the sink head, the sink and the corners of the mirrors and not to mention the clog in the shower's outlet. The 'table' that was provided had black dirt stains at its slits and nooks. ||The double deluxe room that my parents were in apparently didn't have a window even.||||Not too sure if it was because we were there for a public holiday weekend, but I would expect my room to be made up with amenities like the shower gel and shampoo topped up for a 3D2N stay. Though, we were brought some when we called the reception. The air-conditioning in my room was very noisy, but at this point I was lucky that it was working and wasn't leaking. ||||The banging of doors in the mornings were unbearable. It sounded like someone decided to open the room doors and left them to close by themselves on purpose. ||||Oh, did I mention the WiFi? Well, it was pretty much non-existent. We tried to connect to a few of them a few times and it either says "unable to connect" or "incorrect password" and I'm sure it was the right password because they got it printed on their keycards. We made a call to the reception, and they were helpful with getting the connection to stabilize again and made sure to call me once it has. But it didn't last long. ||||When they say free parking, they're not wrong. The fact that the hotel is made up of shop lots, parking is minimal in front of the hotel and it usually gets packed at breakfast and during dinner time. So I'd suggest either walking around that area or taking a Grab if you'd need to go a little further away from the hotel or risk losing your spot. ||||In summary: ||1. Not-to-bad location. Eateries nearby, convenient. ||2. Hotel team is helpful ||3. Rooms were horrendous||4. Definitely...
Read moreI was there for 9 days. The bathrooms on the third floor are deplorable. For more than 20 people only two restrooms operate at times. One never had toilet paper. Both never had nozzles on the bidet hoses. Door locks do not function well. The floor is always wet. The toilets do not flush well. The staff & management are too stupid, greedy, and/or lazy to put refuse bins in the stalls and in the lobby, and outside. Common to this area. They lack intelligence. It's a filthy area. I stayed at another hostel in Johar Bahru with rats running around without fear...... you feared being bitten. Why are Malaysians so * lazy? Why do travelers accept these standards?Back to Here Hotel....The A/C did not function for several days. Staff turned the A/C up or off so that the rooms were @24C.I am not SE Asian, I perspire at that temperature. Here Hotel policy is 20C for A/C. They failed miserably many nights. Many nights I lie in bed perspiring not sleeping. The day shift front desk man is not honest nor does he listen well. He claimed staff had no access to A/C remote controllers, he lied.He then tried to play a game where he was going to help the complaining guest by lowering the temperature to 18C. I never once asked for this. He thinks others are as stupid as he is.The manager disconnected a phone call with me when I was describing my dissatisfaction. The lobby restrooms offer nothing but 2 urinals...the toilets are inaccessible. Last time I checked half the population does not use urinals. The night shift woman working the front desk could care less, she is unsuited for customer service.Insufficient electrical outlets in the lobby common area for guests who need to work. The entire hotel is shrouded in dim light trying to hide its deficiencies. The only two positives are after I made a scene because I was so angry at their horrible hotel and attitudes finally, the last night the dormitory room was 20C per policy. The only other positive is that I arrived at the hotel with no cash and was unable to get any for two days. Staff member Jesse loaned me his money to survive. Jesse deserves a pat on the back from management.I will not stay there again if I can avoid it.I am 67, I have been staying in hostels around the world since 2005 and I am generally an easygoing guy. This hostel/hotel is crap.....spend a small amount more and stay somewhere much...
Read moreMy stay here wasn’t a pleasant one as it has hotel room ms and dorm rooms. In terms of noise, you will hear people banging their room door and talk really loud. Soundproof wise is quite bad.
When we checked-in to the hotel, the floor near the door has some sticky liquid and the mirror at dressing table and bathroom are very dirty. The bed frame cushion has some liquid spots on it and the chair near dressing room is dirty too.
If you have elderly in the group, I do not recommend to take the family room as the stair toward the upper level is quite narrow and steep. Be careful when you are going to hang the clothes near the stairs as you may hit your head to the corner of the staircase if you didn’t notice that corner section.
Bathroom wise, the floor is very slippery so make sure you get more floor mats for the toilet area to avoid wet floor. If you love hot shower, their shower may not be able to satisfy you as the hot water may come and go. Shower gel and shampoo that the hotel provide are cheap one as you will see very less bubble. Better bring your own toothbrush too as the body of the toothbrush is very “flexible”. There is only 1 rubbish bin in the family room and it is in the toilet.
Electric or power wise in the room is not so stable. There was a night where the electricity got cut off 5 times within 30 mins. So don’t leave your phone or gadget being charged overnight.
Location of the hotel is good though as it is a shoplot hotel and there are a lot of eateries. Watson is just beside the hotel in case you need to get your own toiletries or other stuff. Hotel staff said no need to pay for parking but we checked in apps that you need to pay for parking so better be...
