艇仔粥 Ting Zai Porridge (Small) = RM12.00 猪肠粉 Zhu Chang Fen (Plain) = RM5.00 油条 You Tiao = RM1.50 per piece No Service Charge.
This place was quite crowded with Customers, many of whom looked Local on a Friday Morning 8.00am and I was lucky to be able to get a Seat as a Solo Diner. It has a very Nostalgic Old School Morning Breakfast Kopitiam Feel. According to a Very Friendly Local Grab Driver, he mentioned that this place has at least 30 years of History.
Very Friendly Staffs mostly comprising of what looked to be Myanmar Folks who are doing most of the Cooking and there is 1 Particular Elder Myanmar Lady who was especially Very Friendly. She welcomed me warmly when I wanted to take Photos of the Place and was also the one who explained nicely that the 猪肠粉 (CCF) needs some time for them to make.
You Tiao was the first to be served up almost immediately after I ordered, Porridge was served in 3 Mins and the CCF took the longest to arrive. Everything though was up within 8 Mins.
艇仔粥 Ting Zai Porridge (Small) = RM12.00
The first thing that hits you is the Very Nice Savoury Smell of Cuttlefish. The Whole Dish is Very Warm and Comforting and is Lightly and Perfectly Salted. No need to add any Additional Soy Sauce.
Texture is Smooth like Ber and every Spoonful is full of Seafoody Goodness. I love that it also has Super Mini Minced Pieces of Pork within which added an additional Subtle Meaty Porky Flavour. Even for a Small Bowl that I ordered, the amount of ingredients and Portion is Generous.
Love the Generous Thick Cut Pieces of Cuttlefish and the Soft Peanuts gave a Nice Tender Bite to the Softness of Everything. It even came with Some Pieces of You Tiao so you don't have to order Extra if you don't want to. Everything in this Dish comes together in Perfect Harmony and nothing clashes.
猪肠粉 Zhu Chang Fen (Plain) = RM5.00
Served in 4 Beautifully Made Rolls, this is not the Folded Jiao Jiao type. I especially love the Chilli that came with this as it is Bitingly Spicy with a Very Strong Taste of Haebee. This is an Excellent Chilli and the Spicy Bite will Linger on your Tongue.
The CCF themselves are Super Silky Tender Melt in Mouth and Slides down my Throat like Butter. Even for the Plain Version I ordered, this already tasted Very Good. Its the Lovely Savoury Salty Sauce with a Beautiful Shallot Oil Taste that really brings out the Flavour of this CCF and really made it Bloom. This is a Top Quality Handmade CCF that has alot of Care gone into making it. Amazing!
油条 You Tiao = RM1.50 per piece
As good as everything was, this was unfortunately the one that did not meet up to standard for me. While it does have a Nice Fried You Tiao Taste, it is Not the Super Crispy Type and tasted abit Cold. Such a Waste.
They are already Pre-Fried and while this may be Convenient, I feel it would be alot nicer if they can fry in Smaller Batches or made to order to maintain the Super Crispy Bite Feel. As there are Pieces of You Tiao already given in the Porridge, I feel you can skip this.
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At a Total Combined Price of RM18.50 (S$5.30) with No Service Charge, this is Absolutely Worth the Money to come give this a try! Absolutely Affordable and Amazing Porridge and CCF.
The Quality of this 艇仔粥 is so good, I feel it can fight with 大四喜. Amount of Cuttlefish Pieces given are So Generous! 大四喜 got a more Restaurant Taste, this one got a more Down to Earth Homely Taste. Both are Equally Good. CCF is also a Definite Must Try if you are here!
Together with a Relaxing Old-School Kopitiam Feel and Friendly Staffs, this is Highly Recommended for Sure! 三十年的历史真不是盖得!

The Restoran is old school setting with strong fan and good cross ventilation (double North/South ingress and egress)
Not less than 12-foreign workers (Non Malay, could be Burmese) in the Restoran but communication is restricted to the ordering of food ONLY ; No-Passion-Just-Eat-And-Go’ type.
RM15 Abalone Porridge (7/10) and a tad disappointed with the too few slices of abalone which is not costly to begin with : menu illustrated so many slices of abalone ; felt a tad misleading ! And would have scored 8/10 … a pity .. what a shame !!!
RM13 Ting Zai porridge gets a strong appraisal from my buddy ; reckon it’s above average.
RM13 Fried Intestine is towards crispy hard and gets 6/10 ; dull food coloring does not help to enhance the food appreciation at sight. Taste ok …
RM9 Prawn 猪肠粉 gets a flat 4/10 … unsure why they can’t get it wrong … looks ok only.
RM5.50 Stewed Chicken feet gets a high 7.5/10 and we like it !!! Kudos !
The beverages are fine.

Read moreRandomly chanced upon this porridge place in Johor Jaya one rainy Sunday afternoon. Surprised to find many people during such an odd hour. Almost all the table were packed but still managed to find a table right at the corner. Since it was my first time here, didnt know what porridge this place is famous for, decided to with the usual of century egg pork porridge. Broswed through the menu, they have quite a variety of porridge and other dishes to choose from.
My porridge didnt took long to be ready. Apart from the porridge, i also ordered an extra plate of youtiao to go along. In total, i paid MYR$13 in total which also included a drink. Porridge was flavorful and portion is quite generous. Apart from the minced pork and century egg, the porridge also comes with liver by default. If you dont eat, can inform them when they take your order.
Overall, food was pretty good and i enjoyed it. Would definitely patronise again if i happen to be in...
