The best seafood restaurant with good quality produce and mastery in cooking we have had in Desaru.
Thanks to Google reviews I am glad to add mine to give this place the focus it needed.
This place is clean, hygienic and there are no flies compared to the other seafood places (and most of the resort restaurants we been to - Hard Rock and Westin)
The live seafood tanks are clean and well presented. The seafood quality is fresh, not fishy, mushy.
Friendly staff through the line from order taking to serving to cashier. It was such a delight.
We messaged them earlier to book for large group and asked if they can help make a soup dish with La La for us and they obliged. Thanks!!
Let’s dive into the food.
Fresh Oysters from Canada are fat and juicy. No need for the sauces to be honest - you can have it on its own.
The fish was a frozen one. (They were so honest) we can’t finish 1.5kg of Soon Hock so we opted for a smaller one which turned out just as good in garlic, ginger Cantonese style.
Furong Omelette was runny and tasty with red onions, mushrooms and it’s every child’s delight.
We also had 3 local lobsters that’s served steamed. It fresh and succulent, juicy and bouncy! The meat was so tender and sweet.
Our La La soup we asked for turned out to be light and flavourful with the right amount of stock. But I must say this is a different breed of La La - it’s supersized!
We didn’t fancy the Venison. Couldn’t quite pin down the taste as it alternate between smokiness and sweetness.
But on the whole, if you are here for a visit, I highly recommend this place for a hearty family dinner.
We also picked up some nice fish crackers.

Read moreFor 259.85 MYR, you got a small plate of seafood mee siam, ard 700gram steam crab, a small shark fin soup and a coconut. All the dishes are nicely done and the crab is fresh, which is a testimonial on both the culinary skill and the freshness of the ingredients. Just like that will perhaps be a 4 star, what’s makes it a five star of want to go back just for this restaurant is because of the shark fin soup. It really reminds me of what I have in the 90s and the taste is exactly like what I remember. Further more you can see the ingredients clearly like the real crab meat (NOT crab stick) and if I pour it over the dry mee siam, you now have an atas wet mee siam 😆 Overall this restaurant definitely leave an expression, unlike the one I try last year which is just a meh. While I have not try other seafood restaurants, I would say you should definitely give this a try if you are in Desaru.
Visited again on 29 Aug (2 months later), this time round order slightly more but felt the soup wasn’t as good as last time, chunk of fin are missing this time round 🙀 and with fried squid and scallop broccoli, the cost is increase to 346.10 MYR. My conclusion for this round of seafood battle is for more affordable yet still fresh seafood, go Lotus. For better culinary but more expensive, come here. This year battle has ended, will come visit again next year for battle of 2026, with a new restaurant to...
Read moreAmong many other seafoods that I have experienced in many different places/ states, the standard for this seafood restaurant is ranked way below my expectations.
There are lots of room for improvement in their lala soup and cereal chicken. Especially for the ingredients used, the chicken is seems to have fried twice or thrice before hands and the colour of the meat was in dark colour (very not fresh). Failed dishes.
The creamy crab was being fried and mixed with creamy source. The method of preparation had made the crab lost its heat faster than usual under non air con environment. Moderate taste hence Moderate rating given.
Initially we have chosen the table with air con. However, they have suggested for us to be seated over at non air con area by saying that air con place table is to host for larger group instead of smaller group size of 4. That evening was on weekday and not crowded. I give a moderately low rating for this.
In terms of drinks, I have ordered a pot of tea. The tea port shown in the menu is way nicer than the actual tea port. Unable to imagine such a the low standard tea port used which is totally way below expectations.
I wish to praise one of the Malay staff that when I accidentally dropped a fork in the floor, without me asking, he observed and took a replacement fork for me immediately. Well done that exceed my expectations.
Overall, one out of 5...
