For the last 3 years annually, we all stop by this small Chinese restaurant either before or after our fishing trip.
The standard is always there, and for the price you pay, it is a real value for money makan outlet.
This time around they did not disappoint us with their level of cooking shown, having arrived at around 7pm and ordered our few favorite dishes, and we are delighted to say that whoever is cooking behind is a culinary genius, one of the dishes we order is the yang chow friend rice and from the looks of it, it ain't much chop, but just 1 spoon of that fried rice, you are in heaven, only regret is that once you place your order, and during peak hours, they might not be able to allow you to add on another order of that delicious friend rice.
Their salted egg yolk sotong is also a must order, not rubbry and salty, just perfectly done, and being so near to the fishery port does make them having the freshest sotong all day round.
They did ran out of some dishes, and it is only 1 hr into their dinner service!!!
Their salted vegetables tofu soup make you wanna drink it all, such fragrance and perfect balance of the taste.
My favorite sweet and sour pork rib king itself is nothing short of perfect.
My wife and fishing kaki loves the lemon chicken and the stir fried vege also full marks for them on it too.
Having ran out of hong Kong noodle we also settled for their day noodle stir fry which they also cooked to perfection.
Overall the food left us wanting for more, but the dinner crowd is so much that you gotta stand wait outside just looking at people eating away. Come early or risk standing outside drooling and seeing their menu run out of dishes during your turn to order.
See them next year!!!! We will...

We ordered their signature hotplate squid, sambal kangkong, and fu yong egg. A small but thoughtful touch stood out—one of the staff, whom I’ll call “Grandma,” brought over a bowl of boiling water and placed our cutlery inside to sterilize it. Such care is rare and much appreciated!
The hotplate squid lived up to its name—served sizzling, it started splattering the moment the cover was removed. Be careful, as even from the middle of the table, I got hit by a few drops! The squid was chewy and paired well with the onions and ginger, making for a flavorful bite.
The sambal kangkong was fairly standard, but the fu yong egg was delightful! Packed with onions, shredded vegetables, and what seemed like bits of meat, it also had a peppery kick that made it extra tasty—sedap!
Given the scorching weather, we opted for their lime and sour plum drink, which was incredibly refreshing. A perfect way to cool down after a...
Read moreIt's not often that one place, one family and one event can make you feel truly welcome in a town... Especially a small town. Tonight however my partner and I had one of those experiences. Not only were we and every other customer fed with the care and attention of family but the food was genuinely (and you can trust me on this one) genuinely some of the best we've have had. Salted Egg Squid is a must try, the Teo Chew Steamed Fish without a doubt needs to be on your order, order some vegetables to keep mum happy and then order the Pork Ribs and the Marmite Chicken the knockout somehow was the Yong Chew Fried Rice. Make sure you stop here, enjoy a meal, enjoy a chat and a drink and be...
