I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sang Seafood, a halal seafood restaurant renowned for its signature Chili Crab. From the moment I stepped in, I could tell this was going to be an extraordinary experience, and I wasn’t wrong. Everything about this place—from the food to the service and ambiance—was absolutely top-notch. Here’s a detailed account of my visit:
Ambiance
The restaurant’s atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between casual and elegant. The interior is thoughtfully designed with a modern yet ocean-inspired theme, featuring tasteful seafood art on the walls. The seating is spacious and comfortable, making it ideal for family gatherings or a meal with friends. Most importantly, the cleanliness of the restaurant, from the dining area to the restrooms, was impeccable. It made the dining experience even more pleasant and relaxing.
Service
The service at Sang Seafood was nothing short of excellent. From the warm greeting at the entrance to the attentive care throughout our meal, the staff made us feel truly valued. They were quick to offer recommendations, explaining the menu with expertise, and ensured our glasses were always filled and our table tidy. Little touches like providing extra wet wipes without being asked really highlighted their attention to detail.
The Star Dish: Chili Crab
The highlight of our meal was, of course, their famous Chili Crab. Let me tell you, it was a feast for the senses! • Freshness: The crab was incredibly fresh, with firm, succulent meat bursting with natural sweetness. You could tell it had been sourced and cooked with great care. • The Sauce: The chili sauce was the true star of the dish. It struck a flawless balance between spicy, sweet, and savory. The richness of the sauce was addictive but not overwhelming. Pairing it with their golden fried mantou (buns) was a match made in heaven. We couldn’t stop dipping and savoring every bite. • Generous Portions: The portions were substantial, easily enough to satisfy 2-3 people. If you’re dining with a group, it’s the perfect centerpiece for a hearty meal.
Value for Money
Given the quality and freshness of the seafood, the pricing was very reasonable. The Chili Crab, despite being their signature dish, was priced fairly and felt worth every penny. They also offer set menus that combine various seafood dishes, making it an excellent choice for larger parties looking for variety and value.
Final Thoughts
Sang Seafood is a must-visit for seafood lovers, especially if you’re a fan of Chili Crab. Everything, from the warm ambiance to the impeccable service and mouthwatering food, was simply outstanding. Whether you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion or just craving a satisfying seafood feast, this restaurant will not disappoint.
I’m already planning my next visit and can’t wait to try more of their amazing dishes. Five stars, highly...
Read moreWe recently visited Sang Seafood Restaurant, a place known for presenting itself as a Malay-Muslim restaurant with a modern Mediterranean dining atmosphere. While the décor leans into that contemporary, stylish vibe, the food leans more towards local Chinese Muslim-style cuisine—which, in our experience, turned out to be a pleasant surprise.
Our group of six ordered a well-rounded selection of dishes: Fried rice with fish roe Stir-fried sambal kangkung Seabass in nyonya sauce Baby sotong (squid) Claypot tofu Kung pao chicken
All the dishes were well-cooked and flavorful, with a solid, dependable taste that felt familiar but satisfying. The fried rice with fish roe deserves a special mention—it was aromatic, well-seasoned, and had a great texture. The nyonya seabass was another highlight, delivering a punchy and balanced flavor profile.
That said, we did have a few small gripes with the dining experience. We were seated at a rectangular table, which made food sharing a bit awkward—a round table would’ve been much more ideal, especially for a group. Additionally, the dishes came out staggered, which broke up the flow of the meal. It would’ve been much better if all the dishes were served together, and the rice served promptly alongside the main dishes, rather than after a delay.
The total bill came to just over RM200, which is certainly on the premium side, but given the quality of the food and the setting, it felt justifiable.
In summary, Sang Seafood offers delicious, halal-friendly Chinese-style dishes in an upscale, modern environment. It’s a great spot for group dining—just make sure to request a round table if you’re coming with friends or family, and maybe a reminder to have all dishes...
Read moreDear Management,
I would like to provide feedback regarding my recent visit to your restaurant. Overall, I was very pleased with the food, which was delicious, and I am grateful for the experience. However, there are a few aspects of the service that I believe could be improved.
Seating and Communication: When we arrived, a staff member informed us that we could enter and sit. However, after that, no one directed us to a table. We stood there for a while, and then another staff member told us to wait in the waiting area. I believe the communication between the staff could be clearer and more coordinated to avoid confusion.
Cups: We ordered hot drinks, and the staff provided a mix of tall and short cups. When I requested a short cup, the staff member informed me that none were available. It may be worth considering adding more short cups to avoid such situations in the future.
Water Refill: We handed our empty cups to a staff member to be refilled with water, but after waiting for about 10 minutes, we noticed that the table next to us had already received a quick water refill. This suggests there was some confusion about our table, as another staff member did not know where is our jug.
I understand that your restaurant is newly opened and may be quite busy, but I hope this feedback helps the management in improving the customer experience moving forward.
Thank you for taking the time to read this feedback. I look forward to visiting your restaurant again...
