Intrigued by their menu highlights, I ordered the petai prawn sotong and asam pedas fish, which were some of their specialties.

The asam pedas fish had a very sour taste, deviating from the usual Malay-style cooking. The gravy resembled more of a soup broth, which I found somewhat peculiar. However, it was the petai dish that stole the show. The sambal scent was perfectly charred, creating a delightful harmony with the prawns and squid.

In terms of value for money, the prices at this restaurant were average, not particularly high or low. While the asam pedas fish didn't quite live up to expectation, the petai dish was amazing.

Overall, my dining experience here was a mix of hits and misses. if I ever have the chance, I might return solely for...

A detour and pitstop we made enroute from Melaka to SG to beat the jam at johor. A friend recommended this for their Assam fish as a “must try” in Muar. We rang them at about 4.30pm and managed to get a table for 7.30pm, while we arrived early at 6.30pm, they gave us the next available table immediately. Very interesting and fun ordering system where you choose the fresh seafood and gets advisory on the style they can cook it in. They will weigh and bill accordingly. The star dish has to be the fried Sotong and Assam fish. While the deep fried egg (炸蛋) is a thing here and everyone orders it - it’s truly a sunny side up with light fluff from the deep frying. Overall delicious food, very fresh ! and yes, if you had one meal in Muar to...

Walk in this restaurant, you would find a chiĺler full of seafoods next to the cashier counter. The trick here is choose your favourite seafoods, they'll cook for you. Southern style "Asam Curry Fish/Fishead" is a must here. Their sambal petai with selected seafoods is also very delicious. When you taste the 1st spoon of the asam curry, you might find it abit salty but after a while, you would enjoy the sourness and the saltiness combination. Btw, they do sell frozen otak-otak here. The price is RM6.50/box. Overall, this is a family running restaurant, so don't expect any 5 star of everything but the taste is good....
