As an avid enjoyer of both pork and spicy soup, I feel that my two cents on this review matters:
Let's start with the main attraction and probably the reason you're here in the first place: The 辣湯 (La tang/Lat tong)
As it's name suggest, Hot/spicy soup is exactly what its name suggest. If I were to describe its taste, it'd be like pig stomach soup (豬肚湯) boiled with ginger, peppery with hints of gingerly spicy. Not too spicy, suitable for people with moderate spicy tolerance.
Next is the 火爆肉, directly translates to "fire explosion meat". Weirdly enough it taste just exactly like that. Pork cooked with a generous amount of baby shrimp (蝦米), ginger, and coriander, all under intense heat in a claypot. You can definitely taste the "hay" in this dish. Although one might argue it's too salty to eat it by itself, which I agree is a bit too salty for my liking, you're not supposed to it it alone anyways and paired with white rice it's "bussin". Suitable for people with higher spicy tolerance as it can get a lil spicy.
I would advise coming in a smaller party as seatings are very limited in this place. The larger the party the longer the potential wait time, as one table is usually capable of catering around 5-6 people. We got lucky and scored a seat not long after arrival (3 pax), but avoiding peak hours also helped a ton in securing a seat as this place can...

I was there this morning as a customer. I disagree with this customer Jane Lin and her review. As a repeating customer of the restaurant, I have seen the whole scenario that happened in the restaurant. As the customer brought in food from outside and the restaurant policy stated no outside food is allowed. Hence, the boss asked customer to keep the food and customer started to become very rude and fought with the restaurant’s boss. The incident happened and the customer shouted and spoke quite loud and rude to the restaurant’s boss. Customer ended up with not eating the food and just takeaway the food so I don’t think they have try the food and just randomly giving bad review because of the incident happened.
To be honest, I have been visiting this restaurant since young and now it is still my Top 1 Lak Tong in Kajang.
Saying the truth out so that others can ignore Jane Lim’s comment as it is bringing bad reputation to the restaurant and this is...
Read moreIf you're a fan of peppery, spicy broths similar to Chinese style pig stomach soup 豬肚湯, you'll enjoy lat tong for sure.
This is our regular & go-to place for lat tong (spicy peppery pork soup). Key dishes here are: lat tong 辣湯, fo bao yuk 火爆肉, and wine chicken 花雕雞. All of these key dishes are a must-order. They also have pork trotters in vinegar 豬腳醋 for those who fancy it, which is splended too. Everything is flavorful, is served to you piping hot in claypots and just a really satisfying place to go to for lunch. Their pork slices used in their dishes are thinly sliced and cooked to perfection i.e. not too rubbery.
There's sometimes a queue to wait during busy hours, only because this shop is small. They only have 9 tables total serving customers, so not a great location for super large groups. Food does get served to your table very quickly though upon ordering.
All in all, worth a visit and worth the drive to Kajang from KL....
