...honestly i'd tasted 4 times this haji samuri satay in my entire life...the first one i'd believed in the late 90's...2nd time in the year 2000's...the 3rd one it was early 2000's and the last is today (23/10/2024)...the first 2 visits to haji samuri with my family and it was my father treat...the 3rd times it was one of my mate had a cravin' to eat satay haji samuri at gombak that they had a branch (shop lot as same row leha kelfood and opposite of k.l east mall) after we'd finished played futsal..and the last one will be with my mate treat right after we'd finished tee off at impiana that was close to dusk and wanted to get some grubs at its golfer terrace but unfortunately its golfer's terrace is 'bout to close!...so we headed to haji samuri satay house over here..of all 4 tines that i had satay at haji samuri...i can say this satay totally overrated!...honestly!...satay that we had today was not even hot (like just took out from griller) seems like they pre cooked...heck!..even my auntie that married to my mom older brother are from kajang also said...if local (kajang) peeps wanna eat satay...thet won't headed to haji samuri satay...so peeps if you're in kajang area and wanted to eat satay...just go and find any place rather than haji samuri...if you have relatives or friends live in kajang...ask 'em where's the best satay spot...heck!...i can name 2-3 spots that sellin' satay are prerty scrumptious than haji samuri...if you're ever in ampangulukelang(au)...go to bie-bie corner at au2...another spot will be at the roadside that goin' to public health clinic au2 (mobile stall by the name yana' s satay...if your 'round au2 and open foodpanda app and search for yana's stay you can find 'em) and lastly au5 foodcourt before.it was burnt down...satay melaka...now this 3 spots that sellin' satay are way more yummier than haji samuri satay...plus their peanuts sauce also are much more delicious than haji samuri...reckon you to give it a try if you're in...
Read moreI took my family for some "famous" kajang sate.
The environment looks spacious and my daughter love the nearby playground.
Ample parking but usually quite full.
It was a weekend and the place was quite packed but we managed to get a table.
Service was quite good, they are cleaning up the table fast for us.
The first confusion was where to line up, probably it was my first time, I saw people lining up near the entrance to a counter, so I just followed, after lining up for 5 to 10 minutes until my turn, the counter told us, for dining in, please queue again in another counter behind. So probably a better directional signboard will be useful.
After lining up again, we placed some orders for various sate (quite a good selection including innards which I don't eat) and drinks (we ordered 4 coconut)
We received our order after 15 to 20 minutes which was acceptable however :
So we complained about the wrong sate and the counter apologies plus gave us our rabbit and lamb sate... Which seems like straight from the freezer to our plate...
So this was the first and last time we are coming here. No more next time.
Pros Spacious Quite clean in general (men toilet is clean but ladies toilet is dirty as commented by my wife) Service is quite fast
Cons Food standard not reflecting the...

The choices are varied and before you order anything, you have to determine your table number and tell the cashier first. Then you can place your order. Once you have paid, he/she will give you a tray with the peanut sauce and other condiments.
Your satay will be prepared and served to your table once it's ready. My friend and I were on a satay binge that day and wanted to try out various stalls in one visit to Kajang. We ordered chicken, beef, lamb and tripe (yes!).
The satay meats were good, though sadly, not really the best. The chicken was a little dry. The beef, though tender, was a little too sweet. The lamb was alright, but could have done with a bit more time over the fire to give it a slightly burnt texture. The tripe was not good at all. It was just heavily marinated and lacked any kick as it, too, suffered from lack of time on the grill.
The satay sauce was rich and thick. With the additional sambal that is provided, it gives the sauce the spicy kick that's required. The bill for the plate in the picture was RM40.80...
