Visited Restoran Chang Cheng 8 Kopitiam @ Metro Avenue in Kajang recently and had a good overall experience. This is a local kopitiam-style restaurant that feels very much like a neighborhood spot where students, families, and office workers gather for a quick yet satisfying meal.
The staff were friendly and attentive, which made the visit enjoyable. Even though the kopitiam was fairly packed during my visit, the service remained smooth and prompt. The staff seemed used to handling the crowd, and orders were taken and served in good time.
The environment was quite packed but still comfortable for dining. Being located near schools, it naturally attracts a steady stream of customers, especially during peak hours. Despite the crowd, the place remained clean and organized, which I appreciated. The atmosphere is lively and bustling, giving it that authentic kopitiam charm.
When it comes to pricing, it’s reasonable, and I believe the location near schools contributes to keeping the menu affordable. This makes it a practical choice for regular meals without burning a hole in the pocket. The food portions matched the price well, so you definitely get your money’s worth here.
As for the food, I tried their char kuey teow and dried pork noodles. The char kuey teow was flavorful, with that nice “wok hei” aroma that makes the dish stand out. It wasn’t overly greasy, and the balance of ingredients made it a satisfying plate. The dried pork noodles were also good, with a savory sauce that coated the noodles well, complemented by tender slices of pork. Both dishes were tasty and fulfilling, showing that this kopitiam serves up quality local favorites.
Overall, Restoran Chang Cheng 8 Kopitiam is a solid dining option in Kajang. With good food, reasonable prices, and attentive service, it’s a place worth visiting whether you’re a student nearby, a working adult looking for a quick meal, or just someone in the area craving classic...
Read moreCoffee shop occupies the corner shop lot. Stalls are largely within the interior of the shop. A good mix of stalls selling different offerings. This makes seating very very tight hence felt very uncomfortable. My eyes were watery as well due to the cooking fumes albeit the coffee shop has coolers.
Tried 2 stalls i.e. the sour soup noodles (ala Chongqing siaw mien from the pictures) and fried kwey teow. The owner of the sour soup noodles stall responded to my query that she is from China hence giving an impression that noodles should be authentic in taste. Unfortunately, this was not the case! It was really bad. Pricing was RM10 which makes it better to go with other offerings. The fried kwey teow was alright.
Beverage price is not overly expensive hence...
