Sun Thai Food (Chinese Muslim) @ Mahkota Cheras — Restaurant in Kajang Municipal Council

This is the worst Thai food I have ever eaten my whole life. Sat indoor and there were lots of flying insects around hitting our faces and landing on our food. Service was ok but waiter was a bit blur when serving food.

The only good thing was the Thai green milk tea. It was well balanced and the portion is big.

Pineapple fried rice - Wet and soggy, tasteless other than the taste of the curry powder. Prawns are so mushy, cold, and tasteless.

Stir fried chicken with garlic - should be call twigs with sand. The chicken is deep fried but they manage to make it soggy and the meat texture dry like branches. It’s just fried chicken pieces with packaging fried garlic.

Steamed Siakap(Garlic Lemon) - fish was ok but can’t taste the sourness of the lemon/lime. The fire got too big that the sauce splat and scald our hands. After the fire die down, the sauce tastes super salty and over cooked the fish resulting in tough...

Food all taste sweet. Prices are quite high, but quality is not there. Prawns are not fresh, soggy. Thai restaurant told customers they don't have Pad Thai (even it's in their menu). Thai basil chicken don't have basil leaves aroma, and not spicy at all. Tomyam soup just so so, nothing special. Pineapple fried rice.... saw a small white cockroach crawling from the pineapple bowl towards the fried rice inside (didn't manage to take photo of it as was rushing to remove it to prevent it from crawling into the rice.....) The lime steam fish, the meat is not fresh. When asked waiter help to put off the flame under the fish plate, the waiter took up the fish plate, straight away use mouth to blow the flame off so hard, with all the other dishes around the fish..... (of course without face mask in order to do so)...seriously.... Coconut ice blended don't have coconut taste at all, only condensed milk sweet taste. No...

I went to this place based on a video on TikTok. And when I check on the general reviews it's quite positive.

The tom yum is easily the best part of the place. It tastes good, and the portions are good for 2 people. All the condiments were plenty. The food itself, besides the tom yum, the other food is okay only. The kailan is serviceable, meanwhile the beef itself tasted not bad but the meat is quite dry and cold and a bit sticky. Oh, and the Thai milk tea is a little underwhelming.

The other good thing about the place is it's pretty big. So it's a good place whether you're just eating alone, or with company. And the decorations are on point. They even have a slushy soda machinery outside of the front door. Very cool.

Overall, it's okay. I probably won't be coming back. Not because it's bad or anything, but I feel like my money is better spent trying out other authentic Thai restaurants out there. It's...
