Nestled in the heart of Langkawi Island, this unassuming seafood restaurant offers a culinary journey through the rich flavors of Malaysian cuisine. On our multiple visits, the standout dish was the prawns bathed in a local sauce, a delightful combination of tender prawns and the tangy, savory notes of the sauce. Each bite captured the essence of the sea. The fried rice here is nothing short of spectacular, arguably some of the best I’ve ever had. It’s a masterclass in simplicity and balance, with perfectly cooked grains infused with aromatic spices and fresh local ingredients. The chili crab, another highlight, was a fiery, flavorful explosion, with succulent crab meat drenched in a spicy, robust chili sauce that left us craving more.
Complementing these dishes were the restaurant’s refreshing juice drinks, with the mango juice emerging as a personal favorite. Made without sugar, it allowed the natural sweetness of the fruit to shine through, offering a perfect palate cleanser between bites. We also made a small but crucial adjustment to our meal: requesting salt and lemon to sprinkle over the prawns and rice. This simple addition elevated the dishes to new heights, adding a burst of acidity and seasoning that perfectly complemented the rich flavors of the seafood. This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone on Langkawi Island seeking an authentic and unforgettable taste of local...
Read moreMy family and I (there were 9 of us) had a really enjoyable dinner here. We came to the restaurant around 7pm after a very long day of touring around the island and received great service. The location is right by a traffic light junction, so if you're driving, I recommend for you to park at the Buraq Oil station right next to the restaurant. Just learnt that the restaurant was originally located closer to Chenang Beach but is now located at an intersection, close enough to the Chenang Beach area.
Seafood's fresh, service was prompt and friendly. We had lala masak cili, ikan bawal masak kicap, ikan talang bakar with sambal, sayur kailan halia and sotong goreng tepung. No fuss at all. Even when there were mosquitoes, they helped to put up a mosquito repellent without us asking for it so that we could enjoy our meal.
All in all, highly recommended and please support their business. :) We enjoyed our dinner tremendously. Hope the owner and his family continue...
Read moreCheap and authentic local mamak food as well as bbq seafood! Near the quiet area of Tengah beach. The fresh fish is scaled and barbecued with charcoal in front of you. I had mamak maggi goreng and bbq loban fish (mullet). (I only remembered to take a photo of the fish after gobbling it down.)The street-facing open air stall is just no-frills street food but the owners have made the effort to create a nice environment with candles on tables draped with tablecloths, and nice...
