Don't bother. It's small, unhygienic and generally poor quality - there's little choice of food (a lot of mango stalls, cold fried chicken stalls, then misc bits and bobs like make up, juice and bubble tea -- contrary to other reviewers, I don't think there was much "local food" unless by local food you mean fried chicken, sausages on sticks and crepes with Hershey's syrup?). It's designed for people to go for a wander and maybe get a snack. It's not designed for people to eat a full meal. No tables, chairs or bins. No cutlery given out. A lot of "wet" food served in plastic bags.
Most stalls had covered their stall with prepared servings of their food onto paper plates, where it was left uncovered to go cold. This even included the satay and other "things on sticks" that take a few mins to cook fresh. It's very unhygienic as it meant flies were landing on food, potential customers were touching it (e.g. a lady was going around picking up bits of cooked fried chicken to choose which one she wanted) and crowds were talking over it. It's the perfect environment for food poisoning and spreading illnesses. You have no idea how long those plates have been left there for, nor who has sneezed/coughed/spit around it. It's street food 101: don't eat it unless it's being cooked fresh, so you know the heat will have killed any bacteria.
Also it's absolutely disgusting that there was a a wild porcupine kept in a cage for "entertainment". I'm horrified that the Russian tourists seemed to find this interesting, thereby encouraging the local men running the stall. These people should be ashamed. It's not acceptable at all.
We bought a juice, then...

However, they were pleasantly surprised by the delicious snack stalls that awaited me. Despite the market's smaller size, it packed a flavorful punch that left a lasting impression. Among the treats that caught their eye were four takeaway snacks, four snacks at the bargain price of $10 Ringgit. With such a tempting offer, I wisely decided to save some for breakfast the following day, savouring the flavours over multiple meals. Not content with just snacks, I also explored a couple of fruit stalls, where I snagged some beautifully ripe mangoes for a steal at 6 Ringgit. The market's compact size made it easy to navigate, allowing me to wander around multiple times, discovering new delights each round. Located a short walk from Langkawi centre, the Temonyong Night Market proved to be a hidden gem. I recommend visiting early for the best experience, ensuring you have ample time to explore and savour the market's offerings. Overall, it was a visit well worth making, promising a delightful evening of culinary...
