First visited in Feb 2020, this restaurant is popular for crab lover. Serving salt baked crab, salted egg crab, sweet and sour crab and other seafood dishes. We ordered large size crab in sweet and sour sauce and was charged RM 130 per KG, wasn't really the price that I am expecting considering they operate from a house, without aircon and cleanliness was a bit of concern. Food tasted ok, we also tried the fried mee hoon in braise pork (扣肉米粉), fried mee hoon with mantis prawn (虾姑米粉), steam large size lala. The large size lala was a surprise though. Huge in size and the soup was good.
** Visited again in April 2022, unfortunately, the food standard dropped drastically. The sweet and sour crab that we had this time was disappointing. The crab was fresh though, however, the sauce was overly salty. Likewise for the claypot tofu and the pork rib king. Hope they can back to their standard before. Already book Since this afternoon, and reconfirm again on 5pm to ensure there is crab, But when arrive there by 8pm as per appointment made, they ask us sit together with another table of customer which they still eating, was bit piss off and asked one of the person in charge( should be boss) and she told her staff those few table already reserved for other customer, but by that time already 8pm and at least 6 tables is still empty, at last the boss in a very rude way offer me to share table with her staff( which her self and one of the staff having his dinner) Where today is Valentine's Day and I wish to create a great memory with my partner to enjoy the so call famous crab restaurant in Pandamaran ,but end up with disappointment. Read moreToday, I brought some friends for dinner at Rest. Sheng May. Very disappointed with them. Ordered 3 crabs (sweet sour) for 5 of us plus other dishes. The crab price is RM110 per kg. (750-900gm each). I have recommended many people to this restaurant because their sweet sour cooking style is the best and to me they do not cheat on weight. Today totally not the same. Only 1 crab was good, 1 crab ( mangrove type meaning shell was big and thin without must flesh and another crab was not fresh(flesh was soft). Worst part when I complained about the sweet and sour style of cooking, she claimed it is their normal style. I told her off. I have been here many times.
