We stumbled upon Aroi Mookata Thai Food while searching for a buffet spot in Kepong. Initially, we were skeptical due to some 1-star reviews mentioning freshness issues, poor service, and cockroaches, mostly from Chinese customers. When we arrived, there were no other customers, and the lady-boss was sitting alone outside, which made us even more hesitant.

However, we decided to give it a shot, and I’m so glad we did! The lady-boss was incredibly friendly, personally walking us to our table, explaining the menu options, and ensuring we had everything we needed. The buffet is RM39.90 for adults, including drinks like Thai milk tea and longan, though seafood is not included. They also offer set meals and a la carte options.

They accept all payment types—cash, card, and QR pay—which is super convenient. There’s a 9% service charge, but it’s absolutely worth it for the excellent service. I ordered the RM39 package for 2pax that came with 2 rice, one seafood TomYum, one kangkung and one egg. But the portion is so small and the seafood was not fresh at all, clams are slimy and the squid tasted like rubber. Other than lala and siham. Overall is nice. Good service, friendly staff.
