Everything about this place is great. Service staffs are 110%, food is delicious from A-Z and the place is cozy. If can, I will give this place a 4.5/5 stars but no option for that.

You pick your own meat cut at the counter there and yes you order other dishes at the counter too. I think you can order from your table as well, not sure about this. Right, straight to food reviews now. We ordered Mains (Steak)

  1. Angus Ribeye Asked for medium well and medium well we got! Cooked to perfection 10/10
  2. Wagyu MB7 Awesome, love it, slightly salty though. 8.5/10. I hope they will have dijon mustard next time but I was contented by the English mustard, so no biggie. Side dishes
  3. Soup (Mushroom) Kinda hope the hot temperature of the soup can last longer i.e. use different bowl maybe. It's less creamy than your typical mushroom soup but it is very delicious, like "this is how it should be!" 8.5/10
  4. Paprika fries It's fries and paprika, what more can you say 10/10. The tomato ketchup that comes with it is awesome, I am not a fan of tomato ketchup but this one is really good.
  5. Creamy Spinach and Gouda Cheese If anything in the things we ordered, this is the only one that I think can be improved but it was already great. Just that it would be nice if the cream be less watery. Oh there's hazelnut or some kind of nut in this dish so if you're allergic, let them know 7/10!
  6. Asparagus, french bean, hazelnut and parmesan This is God sent dish. Love it to bits 10/10
  7. Foie Gras No words can describe, it is AWESOME 10/10 Dessert
  8. Chocolate tuxedo The name itself is handsome. It was very delicious. A great way to finish...

We wanted some meat for Saturday lunch so we went to Butcher’s Block is a neighbourhood butcher Come restaurant with decently priced and friendly staff.

: Lamb cutlet 275g @ RM80 (9/10) Argentinian Ribeye 245g @ RM130 (10/10) Foie Gras 50g @ RM25 (9/10) Spanish Bone Marrow 365g @ RM64 (6/10) Pesto Pasta @ RM27 (7/10) Lamb Burger @ RM38 (9/10) 2 glasses of house wine @ RM54 (8/10)

Overall, Butcher’s Block’s raw ingredients & preparation are good.

The only dish we didn’t think was worthwhile was the Spanish Bone Marrow. It wasn’t anything to do with Butcher’s Block’s preparation. In my opinion, the Spanish bone marrow costs a little too high for very little satisfaction.

If you want a nice juicy meaty steak, give their Argentinian Ribeye a try, it is probably one of the best we’ve had in KL. Highly recommend to paired with a glass of red wine.

We’ll be back for more...

We ordered wagu MB7 strip-loin (top of picture), which had 15% discount offer. We also ordered Australian grass fed ribeye, so we could compare the taste (bottom of the picture).

We asked for medium rare, and that is what we go. The mean is grilled on charcoals and not flattop, which is a good thing.

Malbec from Argentina at 120rm per bottle is a very good deal, but even by the glass is good a value.

While all sides were good, I would definitely recommend the beetroots and the cauliflower cream with truffle oil. I couldn’t try the cheesy spinach dip and the other one with avocado cause they were out of it.

If you like a good grilled steak that doesn’t need any sauce and melts in your mouth, this is the place to go if you don’t...
