The environment /vibes in the restaurant is cozy, clean and quite comfortable, feel like you can really have a good meal and experience in there. We ordered a appertizer: Funghi Gratinati(portabella mushroom stuffed with spinach, pinenuts) , 2 entrees : a red wine braised beef, a Margherita Pizza, 2 desserts , Chocolate Lava Cake ( with vanilla ice cream) and tiramisu.
Since we have a small table, we worried the table won't fit all the dishes if they served at the same time, the waitress was nice and said it is not an issue, as they will serve appetizer first, when appetizer is finished then will serve entrees.
Before starting, warm bread slice with balsamic vinegar and olive oil as dip was served, the bread goes really well with the dip, like it.
The appetizer, taste is OK, as it was served with Green amaranth and not the usual Spinach; the first time I tried this was served with usual Spinach, which taste really good. Margherita Pizza entree is the best, thin crust, just nice tomato sauce and cheese. Red wine braised wagu beef is not too bad, a bit salty though, the side dish green bean was seasoned just right and taste really good.
For the desserts, Chocolate Lava Cake is very nice, not too sweet, vanilla ice cream is OK. The disappointed part is the Tiramisu, I can taste a very strong ginger taste that I really hate when eating, probably they uses ginger bread instead of classic SAVOIARDI lady finger biscuit. If I knew they use ginger bread, I will not order at all. I would suggest the owner warn customer when they are not using authentic SAVOIARDI, to avoid this kind of bad experience.
For the service , most part is good, the only problem is there's a waiter seems too "work" too hard; once you finished the dish, he immediately approach your table and collect the plate to clear the table. This could be good, but collect the plate right after finished is actually quite annoying move, and feel like they want the customer to leave as soon as possible, In Cantonese this is 趕客. You cannot enjoy the meal, when the waiter keep doing this ........ , hence only gave 3...

In Bukit Damansara where there is no shortage of Italian restaurants, it took me a long time to discover this lovely Italian restaurant. I noticed DV when I went to have breakfast at Smith few doors down, and it took me months (or maybe more than a year? 🤔) to finally make my way here.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, everyone was seen tucking into their food happily - chatty and slightly noisy, but definitely homey and cosy. The presence of friendly and attentive staffs quickly made ourselves at home which was a positive indication of a good time.
The warm and cosy dinner started with a complimentary basket of Italian bread with EVOO + balsamic vinegar dipping.
◾Eggplant parmigiana - layered slices of fried eggplant, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Surprisingly dish of the night that even the normally I-don't-like-eggplant kids heaped praise to the flavoursome dish. They had the lion share in the end. ◾Roast beetroot, burrata, tomato and arugula salad (serves 2) - something about the crunchiness & earthiness of the beetroot, the classic burrate texture plus the balsamic dressing that made the dish stood out. ◾Risotto with squid ink & calamari - worthy mention Italian take on the squid ink risotto that I couldn't get enough of. In the same level with my fav squid ink paella (ok this is Spanish but both were awesome) from Marta's. ◾What started with the classic margherita pizza which turned out to be awesome by the way, it got them hungry for more so we got another pizza in the form of Bismark (tomato sauce, mozzarella, turkey ham & cracked egg in the middle) which they proceed to clean everything too. ◾And luckily I decided to bring own wine that elevated our experience another notch. Corkage is charged at reasonable RM50.
After the fulfilling and satisfying dinner, I regretted for procrastinating so long before finally made...
Read morelets start with the parking- what parking? with the bad part of the review dispensed with walking into the restaurant - the smiles from the staff reminds u that u are entering a friendly and safe chat space the lay out is easy to manoeuvre for wheelchairs and push chairs the space between tables are sufficient enough that u dont feel u eating off someone else's plate the chairs are comfy and the uncluttered decor gives u the notion that u are in a far bigger space than u expected
the service by Abraham is fantastic (he was our go to man at the Decanter)-always knows his customers
the food - detailed in the next review - was fast and hot and exactly what u would expect the bruschetta and the parmagiana were quick to the table, fast down the gullet leaving a big smile on the lips i must say the aglio olio was fantastic- now here is the thing my 9 year old son has a dairy intolerance and often has to have simple dishes to avoid problems- he has been to just about 100 Italian restaurants - and gives this a thumbs up to DVs
the bill was reasonable and we will be coming back plus we owe Abraham a tip- sorry we were rushing off...
