Huckleberry is very well-established in Damansara Heights area. Come at any time of the day and chances are high that they are doing brisk business - whether dine-in or even takeaway. People are lining up just to buy their breads or pastries. Apart from that, they are also quite popular among breakfast goers. Come weekends and most likely they'll be full house. Why not? Food is good, coffee is good and service is good. ◾Eggs Benedict RM32.90 - expect full blown version with 2 poached omega eggs, House-made hollandaise with either smoked salmon, turkey ham or Portobello on top of bread. I went for smoked salmon. Served with salad on the side. A favourite breakfast item with the minister. ◾Roasted aubergine Shakshuka RM22.90 - Tunisia. Style omega baked egg in slow cooked roasted aubergine and tomato stew, topped with feta and served with house-baked bread to mop the sauce. My kind of breakfast.. warm and comforting. ◾Buttermilk chicken burger RM28.00 - deep fried buttermilk chicken thigh. Nothing could make the sonny happier than a burger made right. ◾Scrambled egg on brioche - gotta love the touch of colours. Perfectly done with slight runny texture. Come evening, they will serve dinner and the place will them be known as Huckleberry After Dark. It has been in my plan to visit them after MCO is over.

Food quality is on par with expectation but they really need to improve on service and staff training. 1. We have a big carrier bag that we prefer not to put on the floor but staff just said cannot put extra chair next to the table. There’s 3 high stools next to us by the counter which could be an alternative but staff never bother to try to accommodate. 2. We were given the physical day menu and lunch menu and asked to order via QR code. However, we couldn’t find the lunch option on the online menu but staff just said it’s in here, under “Lunch” but there’s so such category in there to begin with. Then she mentioned “neighbourhood menu” and “if cannot scan go counter”. Oh sure so after spending 5 mins trying to order online, we had to spend another 5 mins queuing up to order. I managed to find “neighbourhood menu” at the end but there’s no picture and option to choose which set I want so it’s as good as not having it. Would appreciate if the restaurant can look into your online ordering menu. 3. We order one salad, one pasta and one set lunch. The first two was served at 12:53pm but the last one was served at 1:12pm after one round of following up, which is almost 20 mins apart. Overall a rather irritating and not so pleasant dining experience, what a shame.

All the food was fantastic especially the pizza. And the cakes were outstanding. But the service needs a lot of improvement. It was my birthday. It was crowded, we had to wait, I don't mind waiting. I was quite disappointed with the waiter in charge of outside if the restaurant. He was showing frustrated face. As though he doesn't want us to wait. My girl wanted to see the cakes while waiting, he refused to let us in. When we got to sit, he didn't come to take order. We waited for some time and finally my husband had to go in to call for waiter to take our order. We understand that it's crowded but the staff can't show us that they are frustrated or tired. We pay and we came to celebrate our big day there. I met my friend after 13 years and I was cheering and guess what the waiter said. Please sit and don't block the way. Excuse me. I'm adult, and civilised. I am 100 percent sure I'm not blocking anyone. Even the customers were happy to see us embracing each other after so many years. The restaurant is so beautiful, people come there to make memories and celebrate. And we pay for it. Nothing is free. So the staffs should be more friendly and show some smiley face. Not showing frustrated face to the customers.

Terrible Attitude!! Worst service ever! If you want to spoil your mood just come to this restaurant! Food is so so only with this price range, don’t need to waste your time and money to come here. I wonder how did the management train their staff, because the staff dare to show his temper to customer by slamming drawer when they know they made mistakes. I visited them on weekday 430pm not a very busy time. I Ordered gingerbread hot chocolate with gingerbread cookies but ended up gave us a normal hot chocolate without gingerbread cookies. I couldn’t even taste any gingerbread. Talked to the waiter nicely then they just add in gingerbread syrups in the same hot chocolate. I think they should have made us a new drink when they know this is a mistake. Because I didnt want to be a fussy customer during festive season so I didn’t request them to redo a new cup of hot chocolate when they sent the drink. But right after I taste it, the hot chocolate is full of gingerbread syrup can’t even taste chocolate. (The description in the menu is written as slightly of gingerbread syrup) So then I explained to the same waiter NICELY WITH BIG SMILE ON MY FACE and guess what.. he didn’t even brother listen my whole explanation, suddenly he just took away my drink from the table and turned around a threw the drink to kitchen, slammed the drawer and started making noise to show his anger to me. I don’t know why I want to be treated like this, if you can’t change it for me please just leave it on the table. Don’t show your bad temper to your customer especially during...

Let's start with the good: Beef pie was excellent (pastry and filling both excellent) Prawn ulam pasta was also excellent (seasonal menu) Cupcakes were also good Despite the warm weather, outdoor seating is quite comfortable due to ventilation

The bad: Portion of beef pie is very sad for around RM30. Very small amount of beef. Waitress sent over a wrong item, which my daughter proceeded to demand to eat immediately (because that's what toddlers do). I didn't realize it's not my order because coincidentally my wife went to the counter to order more food (portions were so tiny we needed to order more, on top of the RM120+ I already spent including drinks). Later she came to (politely) request if I'm willing to pay for the mistake - but obviously I had to because they would have deducted her pay instead. Cafes should have a budget to fix problems like this, especially when the prices are already so extortionate. The wrong order (some kinda cube croissant) was not even delicious, as it was stiff and not flaky (probably sitting idle for a little too long). Next door vent noises drowned out the ambience and music - not their fault but worth noting. Difficult to get table, but that's not their fault as well.

All in all, food is generally excellent but for the price I had to pay, I expect to leave happy instead of guilty/embarrassed/unhappy....

I intended to order their Christmas menu for a party on Saturday evening. I noticed their policy indicating that all orders must be placed 2 days in advance. Hence, I messaged them on Thursday at 11 am. In my messages, I asked twice if it was possible to have the order ready by Saturday or if it was too late to place the order. They ignored my questions and inquired about the specific item I wanted instead. I assumed they could accommodate the request and proceeded to confirm with my guests regarding their food preferences.

Once I finalized everything with my guests, I placed the order at 12 pm. However, I didn’t receive any call or message confirming my order. I made several phone calls to confirm but nobody answered. Eventually, I messaged them again to confirm my order.

It was almost 4 pm when a staff member finally replied, stating they couldn’t take my order as all orders needed to be placed at least 3 days in advance. If that was the case, why didn’t they inform me initially when I asked them twice?

When I mentioned leaving a Google review, the manager called, mentioning that she had already consulted with the chef, and they could indeed fulfill the order. 4 to 5 hours of waiting for a response and confirmation was a very unpleasant experience. I’ve decided never to order from this...
