My first visit here as we planned to go to Anis Putri but it was closed. We then droved to this place. The area was damned hot. The hot wind from outside is worse that we are not able to sit at the open area facing the main road. Furthermore, there is no ceiling above that makes the metal deck roof transfer the heat to the ground. The inner section is a bit cooler and luckily we managed to get seats. I would suggest them to install more fans and air cooler.
Foods look and tasted good. I loved the ikan patin and fried keli. It seems that they got these freshwater fishes from Pahang river. Of course they taste much better than pond breed. Many types of fried fish but could find keli or tilapia sambal goreng. When asked, the person in charged ask me to take sambal from chicken masak merah. Serious ah???
The type of sambal available is uncooked sambal lada ( doesn't look like sambal belacan ). 'Sambal goreng kering' really goes well with keli or tilapia goreng but I wonder why this people do not wish to satisfy customers with this common and appetizing food. Saviour could be the patin masak lemak. Its really tasty, tender and delicious.
Price is relatively ok for the quantity and number of dishes we had. We were charged RM70 for a bowl of daging hitam, siput sedut, ikan patin, keli goreng, a piece of fried chicken, a pax of ikan bilis goreng and ulam-.ulam. Probably would come again but this time i really hope the sambal goreng...
Read moreI'm actually feeling high from the tempoyak-ness as I'm writing this review. Haha. This place, wow. Their main dish, ikan patin masak tempoyak, hands down one of the best I've ever tasted in pantai dalam area. I'm sure cannot challenge the Temerloh side but this one is quite damn close. Haha. You can even smell it from the front entrance as you walk nearer. After you grab your nasi putih, then you proceed to the front and ask for the fish and what part do you want like head or body or tail. It's important you grab it first before it's finished as this place can get crowded quite fast. Then you proceed to take some other lauk if you want to like daging masak kicap, telur itik masak lemak, there's ulam as well. The fish is very fresh, soft and super infuse with the kuah tempoyak. The kuah itself....damn. Very pekat and tasty. Haha. I'm sure tempoyak lovers will get a kick out of it. And get this, nasi tambah is free! Haha. That's what the waiter said. Take as much as we want. 🤣 We ate for 3 people, not much extra lauk, plus drinks, equals to RM56, which is quite reasonable price. 👌 You have to come early like 11:30am-12:30pm range if you wanna avoid parking problems cos everyone parks by the roadside. But overall, it's very worth it to come and eat here with group of friends or family. Highly...
Read moreI visited this restaurant twice, and it's a common "kedai nasi campur" in Malaysia. It stated clearly how much each dish is—a nice touch for transparency.
One of the highlights for me was the Daging Kicap. It was really good and reasonably priced at around RM8. I'd rate it a solid 8/10.
The Siput Sedut was quite tasty and easy to sedut even with someone with zero skills like me lol. It was decent, maybe a 5.5/10, but good for variety.
The sambal belacan was a standout—9/10, absolutely delicious and spicy.
The Ikan Patin Tomyam was another star dish—fresh, tangy, and perfect for sharing. It might be a bit too tangy for some, so I'd give it a 8/10.
The bergedil was huge and crunchy, which my husband loved, but for me it was more like a 4/10. There wasn't much potato inside, so it was just more crunchy than anything lol.
Overall, it's a nice, simple place where you can get good, standard Malay food. Definitely worth coming to (although a bit expensive), especially with family or friends.
Oh but also it's FULLY PACKED during lunch hour, so it's better to just tapao and eat at home, as it's hard to find a...
