It's a shame to vegan food. I had to leave this review because I went there seeing multiple good reviews on Google; or at most, neutral reviews mentioning that the price is on the high side. (They are about RM25-for-a-main-course range, I would happily pay for it if the food is good.)
We ordered a mushroom soup, a Vietnamese spring roll, and a spicy eggplant pasta.
40 minutes in, I wasn't even being served the mushroom soup. There were 3 waiters walking around the small space with about 10 tables, it looks like no manager is on duty to manage the orders.
Called one waiter over and asked about our food. "Have you guys placed your order?" Was what we got. "Yes, we ordered 40 minutes ago." I politely ask him to serve at least the appetizers first, he apologizes rushed to the kitchen to check.
He went to the kitchen, proceed serving another 2 tables without getting back to me. Had to remind him to check again. And again.
10 minutes later mushroom soup was served. A few minutes later pasta is served. Spring roll still no where to be seen. It's been 50+ minutes.
Beyond starving, we just hope the food was worth the wait.
No it wasn't. The Bolognese is bland and watery, could use more spices and seasoning. I've never eaten an eggplant so rubbery before. It comes with a rancid oil taste as well. Spicy eggplant actually means sprinkling some chili flakes on the pasta, what a brush-off. Mushroom soup is tasteless, under-seasoned, for RM15 I would expect them to at least cream it up with nut milk or coconut cream, instead of thickening it with cornflour. They are only comparable to Campbell soup and the later still tastes better.
Overall feedback for the food here: Monotonous and definitely did not justify the price.
Vegan and healthy cooking is not an excuse to make half-hearted food as such. I am getting much better vegan food in Sala. Same price range and I did not regret a single bit.
Spring roll is still missing after we finished both soup and pasta.
Gave up, paid and left.
If the owner have asked us for feedback, I would have detailed the bad experience, spare this google review and hope the best for their improvement. But they did not bother to ask even when I expressed the long wait and asked him to take out the spring roll...

This vegan food establishment is probably overrated imho. FYI there is only one Loving Cafe atm in the country.
If you're looking for some of the best wholesome vegan foodie experiences in KL, you'll likely have better luck at LN Fortunate Coffee (HQ in Mont Kiara, Branch in Sunway Geo) and Sala (a Mexican-inspired and localised eatery in Desa Sri Hartamas).
For one, I personally didn't think that the food served in Loving Cafe was commensurate with its price in terms of taste and quality. In other words, I didn't feel at all that I was getting value for money (a.k.a the bang for your bucks).
Plus, the prices here also made me cringe... (like, a lot) which instantaneously prompted me to hunt for the lowest price item on the menu. That wasn't particularly pleasant just so you know.
( SUMMARY ) Pros: Cakes look breathtakingly great (I saw two amazing flavours during my visit) and are probably worth the price of RM20/slice, yet to try! Cons: Food quality didn't match the price - wasn't up to my expectations. In short, most food items on the menu are exorbitantly priced.
Hope my insight has been helpful towards a better vegan dining experience for...
Read moreVery overpriced restaurant, food taste very normal but price is extremely high. All simple 1-pax fried rice costs RM18.80 and above, not to mention other food that averagely costs RM20 and above. Drink is even more crazy, a cafe latte costs you a whopping RM19. This is way too overpriced for a very very normal decorated vegetarian cafe. If you plan to order a meal + beverage, prepare to pay at least RM40/pax (there’s 8% service charge on top).
Service-wise, me and my family visited and sat down browsing the menu. When we’ve decided what we would like to order, no single waitress is at the floor and we have no idea how to order. Finally when we moved to the cashier to attempt to place order, a waitress finally walked outside and told us she’s take our orders at our table. Then she proceeded to take order from another customer who just came in seconds ago (who is not even seated) then only come to attend us. Me and my family sat there and waited for our food for more than 40 minutes and guess what? That customer who cut queue got their food delivered before ours.
Will never visit this restaurant ever again. A very frustrated dining...
