Been quite long since I'm back here. Offers staple Chinese food of Chicken Rice, Roast Pork, BBQ Pork and Noodles (Wantan, Curry, Sit Fry, etc). The most unique part of this place is probably the Bean Spouts.
Atmosphere: 4🌟 There are inside seats and outside seats. Inside it's a bit packed but it's air conditioned with fans.
Food: Roast Chicken 3.25🌟 Food: Normal/Steam Chicken 3.5🌟 Steam one is better as it's very smooth and the roast one doesn't offers a lot of extra roasted flavour and it's dryer. Priced at Rm 9++ for 1 normal portion (eg: 1 drumstick). It's pricier than a normal Kopitiam place.
Food: Oil Rice 3.5 🌟 Food: Soup 2 🌟 Food: Roast Pork 3🌟 Food: BBQ Pork/Chasiu 3.25🌟 Food: Bean Sprouts/Taugeh 3.5 🌟 Rice is nice, fluffy and fragrant. Soup is sort of undrinkable with too much pepper and msg. Both pork are in the dry and lean side especially roast one but roast pork skin is quite crispy. BBQ one seems to be glaced with honey so it has nice fragrance and dipping into BBQ sauce can help to moisten it up. Bean sprouts are fatter and thicker than normal but not by a lot. It's also quite short but overall quite nice, crunchy and refreshing. All of these are within Bento sets priced at Rm 18.80++. It's pricey as well but it's probably the...
Read moreHad a late dinner passing through Sri Petaling, thought a famous old brand should be safe. Grimy floors and a messy toilet were probably indicators of a busy restaurant, but there were many empty tables at 8.45pm. An elderly gentleman took our order of noodles. He strongly suggested a side order of their famous chicken, claiming it is a sizeable portion of the day's leftovers, implying good value. The noodles were reasonable although in small amounts. The chicken dish barely filled half a small plate. We asked why, and were told it is a standard single serving, the amount appear small because it had been de-boned. Despite being barely enough for a child we were billed RM15 for this side order! The pricing is debateable, but the sales pitch is highly reprehensible. While dining we heard the same offer urged upon new customers in the next table. Same story - it is late, we have leftovers, you can have good portions, good value. And all this while we spied 2 cooked chickens hanging at the preparation area, so being last portions is definitely untrue. Paying higher prices is bad enough, realising that a deceitful sales pitch had been used is what urged me to write this review to...
Read moreCustomer service is very bad. She is very rude, took wrong order and then when we told her it's wrong, she was rude about it openly to everyone around. (Chinese woman, may have been the supervisor? The one who took the order and was the cashier)
I told her, she took the wrong order, and she refused to listen and blatantly ignored as if I didnt say anything.
And after it's changed, I think the order may have still been wrong, but it is what it is
When asked to explain certain dish, she was kinda condescending
Already puts you in bad mood to even try to enjoy the food. Wanted to leave there and then but the food was already being made, so we felt bad. (But I wish we walked instead)
Food is meh, nothing special. Not worth the price. Was hungry but couldnt finish it.... The Hokkien Mee is too sweet, the Cantonese Yee Mee is too salty
Could find cheaper and nicer food outside
10/10 would...
