Neighbowl — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

The food at this shop was absolutely delicious! I ordered a teriyaki beef bowl with avocado, onsen egg and ebiko as add-ons. Interestingly, ebiko wasn’t listed as an available topping, but I really wanted it, so I asked if I could pay extra for it—even suggesting they price it similarly to the egg add-on. The waitress was incredibly kind and even called her manager to check, and to my delight, they agreed!

Another nice touch—I wasn’t a fan of the dried flakes usually included, so instead of just removing them, they replaced them with seaweed flakes, which was perfect.

The service here is truly outstanding—they went above and beyond to make sure my meal was exactly how I wanted it. The whole experience was fantastic, and I’d highly recommend this...

Let me preface by saying that although we were offered a drink for rating them regardless of the number of stars, this review is genuine. With a simplistic menu offering mostly rice bowls that not only looked and tasted great on top of the restaurant being clean and comfy.

Our orders of Hulk tamago, Fuji Smoked Salmon, Fire torched Smoke Duck and Fire torched Aussie Beef Slices had no noticable flaws although if I had to nickpick, I'd say the beef slices weren't torched enough. The rest were works of art with nice contrast of colours. Top marks for plating. The rice were slighly soft and the sauces and spices complemented well with the toppings. They also priced their meals affordably without going overboard.

Taste factor: 8.5/10 Return...

Authentic Curry Udon Noodle from Neighbowl 🍜 Homemade special recipe curry laksa with Japanese Udon (double portion), fried tofu, shredded chicken, lava egg & smoked duck breast 🤤 The curry broth was rich in santan; not spicy, however still strong in flavour. Udon was thick and very filling (regretted for adding on another portion of udon because it was too much 😩). I wish they didn’t add flying fish roe on the extra udon as I’m not a fan of ebiko 😓 Could have been better if they included sambal together for the curry udon (apparently there are additional charges for sambal which I didn’t know…thought it comes together).
