Yesterday, my boyfriend and I visited this establishment after Iftar, eager to break our fast together. We deliberately waited to avoid the usual Iftar traffic, and by the time we arrived at 9 PM, the restaurant was bustling with guests who had finished eating and were mostly engaged in conversations. While my boyfriend had been here before, it was my first time, and I was genuinely excited to explore the menu.
The female cashier was gracious and recommended the mini versions of the dishes, which we gladly accepted as a way to sample a variety of items. However, we were cautious about portion sizes, so we also ordered a side of loaded fries to ensure we’d have enough to eat. The mini dishes arrived promptly, and the food itself was absolutely delightful, flavors were on point, and we were satisfied with the meal overall.
However, the experience quickly took a downturn when our side of loaded fries, which we had eagerly anticipated, never seemed to arrive. After about 30 minutes, we decided to inquire. The senior staff member we spoke to, who was dressed in black and had "Crew" emblazoned on his back, assured us he would notify the kitchen. We waited patiently, but an hour passed and our fries were nowhere to be found. To make matters worse, it became apparent that the staff member was more focused on attending to an influencer who was there to create content for the restaurant.
What truly exacerbated the situation was when the table next to ours received their fries before we did. When we asked the server who delivered their order about our fries, he immediately went to the back, and only 10 minutes later did our fries arrive.
What I’d like to know is whether the senior staff member actually followed through on his promise to alert the kitchen, or if our order simply slipped through the cracks. What’s even more perplexing is the complete lack of apology or acknowledgment when the staff member saw that we had been waiting much longer than expected. It’s one thing to be patient when delays happen, but the lack of communication and disregard for our experience felt unacceptable, especially when the attention was diverted elsewhere.
At a time when customer service is paramount, this experience left much to be desired. The lack of professionalism, particularly from a staff member who appeared to be in charge, left a sour impression. It’s really not just about...
Read morevisited the restaurant after hearing a lot of good reviews about it and overall had a fantastic experience! here’s a breakdown of my thoughts:
space: the space is a standard shop lot, not too spacious but also not cramped. i thought it would be bigger, but the cozy ambience made up for it. i arrived around 12 on a sunday and there were plenty of empty tables. however, after 12:30, the place filled up quickly, and people had to wait for tables.
food:
loaded teriyaki fries – these were beyond amazing. i’m not kidding when i say i almost cried with my first bite because it was so flavourful and delicious. the sauce and meat were perfectly blended, and i think the fries are homemade because they were thick and had potato skins on them. this dish might be seasonal since it’s not on the permanent menu, but it’s definitely the star of my meal. i’d give it 10000/10!
starter pack – came with mini versions of original haven, rise of the onion, and ebi haven (2 of each). the beef in the original haven and rise of the onion was tender, with perfectly caramelized onions and just the right amount of cheese. i couldn't really taste much difference between the two, but both were delicious. my favorite was the ebi haven—the ebi was soft, and the creamy sauce gave it a nice kick. i’ll definitely be back for the full-sized version of the ebi haven.
ultimate haven – this burger was just as yummy and honestly comparable to woodfire (in my opinion, hehe). the patty was tender, and the combination with beef bacon added a nice texture. plus, the burger was big!
this butter b good – i saw a lot of hype around this drink, and it didn’t disappoint. it’s fizzy and tastes a bit like butterbeer from zus coffee. while i found the flavor unique and nice, i’m more of a coffee person, so it didn’t impress me much. my sister, on the other hand, loved it!
overall: 10/10 for grill haven! i would definitely come back for more 💯 hope you can maintain...
Read moreCame here for date night on a Saturday around 8:30pm. Business was brisk with most tables full, but we managed to find a small table for two at a corner. Ordered at the counter and food was quick to arrive.
We decided on the starter pack with 3 types of mini burgers (Original Haven, Rise of the Onion & Ebi Haven) since it was our first time and we wanted to try more variety of burgers. My favourite was the Ebi Haven which was filled with juicy chunks of fresh shrimp inside a perfectly buttered bread roll. The other two beef burgers were alright taste wise but personally, I couldn’t discern much difference between the two. I also felt that the patties being mini-sized made it less juicy, though I’ll have to try a normal sized burger next time to confirm. Fries were standard and good!
As for the drinks, the butterbeer was amazingly delicious and I could not stop sipping it throughout my meal. Highly recommend! My partner also enjoyed his chocolate milkshake.
Our bill for two came up to RM67. For a sit down burger place, the price was a very pleasant surprise compared to most burger outlets in KL these days (looking at you, Five Guys 😒) so I do hope the restaurant continues to keep their prices pocket-friendly! Would definitely return again to try more burgers...
